Do any of you DFW guys who are ordering the 2005 SEBR have an FFL worked out in the area yet? I'm on the list for one, if there are alot of us ordering, maybe we can work something out with someone local.

Is there a thread on this already that I missed?

Out of 230 rifles and still counting, I'd imagine quite a few of those are coming to Dallas/Fort Worth, we should be able to work a discounted rate out with someone. It would also be nice to only have to have the transfer paperwork done once.

Who do you guys normally transfer your rifles through?

If you live in the area and you have a SEBR coming, chime in here.

Not me.

What is a discounted price?

If it were me, I would go to www.rcsunlimited.com and pay the everyday price of $10.

I called Arlington Arms, and was quoted $40.  Would be kind of a drive up to RCS. No offense, but are they good people? I am a virgin at this transfer stuff, and just want everything to be cool.

No offense taken; I vouch for him, but satisfy your curioisity and do a search or ask around on this BBS. The owner goes by 'rcsguns' on this site.

I've used Silver Dollar Pawn in Garland a number of times. Last time I was there it was $25 without CHL and $15 with CHL.

I wonder if there is a local DFW area dealer-FFL who frequents the local funshows who would be interested in doing the group transfers at a gunshow to consolidate and maybe take preorders for BUIS or other bolt-on accessories as well to make a few bucks while making the transfer convienient for the SEBR buyers.

One or two of the Fort Worth, Dallas, Mesquite shows would probably cover nearly everybody in the area and for the few who can't hook up at a show the possibility to visit the shop or make arrangements to get it at the FFL's place if needed.

It seems like this may be a good way to build a relationship with potential new, long term customers.

Then he would possibly only need to send in one signed FFL to Mr. Avila (Pending his approval of course) to cut down on some of the duplicate paperwork.  Any thoughts guys?  Bruce

Sporting Arms, in Lewisville, charges $15.

Sporting Arms

I had a good experience purchasing a rifle from them a few years ago.  It's a Mom and Pop outfit, who work out of their house.

Ok guys - Sporting Arms has their FFL in the mail to Ar15.com, so anyone who doesn't have someone lined up yet should give them a call. They are very reasonable at 15 bucks a transfer.

I got a reply from Sporting Arms today as well.  They have a few SEBR transfers in the works allready.  They seem like good folks and with the good feedback here that's where I'm going... WOO HOO check is enroute to Mr. Avila!!
