Course Summary: This course addresses some of the tactics/techniques that could be utilized (by a family or small cohesive group) to secure assets and survive during a period of political, social & economic instability with localized recurrent levels of violence.
Course Description:
• This is a scenario driven, force on force training program. Participants will be immersed into a volatile and unstable urban/suburban environment with no electricity, running water, sewage, transportation, communication, legitimate security forces, etc.
• Course format – introduce concepts and train during daylight hours with force on force scenarios throughout the night.
• You will be living out of your BOB/GTS bag on the facility and in the training environment. There will not be any ‘tactical timeouts’ to replenish your bag or go to town/vehicle for an item or meal once the course begins.
• You will also be required to wear and secure your BOB/GTS, weapons and other supplies at all times. Expect long days and longer nights moving around with all of your equipment - the scenario does not end until graduation on day four.

General Information:
• Please wear clothing that will allow you to blend into your community following some type of disaster. Dressing head to toe in camo is strongly discouraged for this course. While DARC does not want to discourage anyone from testing & training with his or her equipment, we ask that you exercise some judgment. If you are unsure about bringing an item please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
• You will be purifying all of your own water for the duration of the course.
• Bring a travel home bag. You can leave it in your vehicle or our facility office so you can clean up for the trip back (toiletries, towel, soap, shower shoes, clothing, etc). DARC has a very Spartan latrine with hot showers that will be made available once the course is completed.
• There is some classroom instruction during the course. Bring a notebook and a pen/pencil if you would like to make notes during any portion of the course.
• Cameras are allowed but please, be respectful of others.
• Any prescription medication must be declared in advance and in a sealed pharmacy bottle, with a prescription to the individual that possesses it.
• Mobile phones and other communication devices will be collected and restricted unless there is an actual emergency. Please ensure your family (possibly even work) is aware of this policy and has the contact information to DARC prior to the course so they may contact you if there is an emergency.
• Functional firearms will not be allowed into the training area. However, we understand that some of you will CCW while traveling to the course and we will not discourage you from exercising that right. A DOD/DOJ approved armory will be made available if you wish to secure your firearm(s) while participating in the training inside something more robust than your vehicle.
