beef jerky and cutlery doesnt bother me.

Jewlry cleaning solution, gold by the foot, and beanie babies do,

oh ya, and 600 dollar SKS's

I hope that this new show rinses the shitty gun show taste out of my mouth.

I would have to agree with ARin.  This town needs a new gunshow.

One that is actually a gun show and not a flea market.

100% gun-related.

I wonder if Practical Tactical would be invited.

We're looking at expanding the number of shows we do into LV and Tucson.  Since this is the first Xroads show there, I'd love a report (you can email directly to me if you want... [email protected]).

Would also like advice on other LV-area shows, esp. from those who have been to the Phoenix Crossroads shows and know what I deal with every show (SAR show excepted) in terms of size, traffic, etc.

Thanks,

BTW, I'll be at this show...as a participant.

Want to see how it turns out before I plonk down those prices for a 100 vendor show at the Trop...I mean, it's a PITA to get a trailer behind the Ice House...I'd hate to try and do that on the Strip...

I'll be there... I'm hoping recent events have driven down the price of our ever-popular black rifle and its various accouterments. Should we organize a AR15.com-Nevada Chapter meeting, Wolf?

I went to the X roads show in Reno today. It was my first Reno X roads show and I will be back. When I entered the room I said that it was a weak (comparitivly small) show and started rambling about and found it to be a great experience. I didn't go for anything in particular but bought a couple of this and that. I searched though a box of 260-300 M14 magazines looking for a particular few. Had plenty of space between the tables ( I discouraged my wife from going because she'd have to use her wheelchair to make it trough the show) She would've been fine there
I wouldn't try that at the Big Reno Show that's for sure. I'm planning on being there next month though. Still don't really need anything but the M14 magazines but my friend is "AKIRA" is meeting me there
Mostly gun related stuff too!
Good luck.

Hope he chokes on them.

One Eyed Jack, now that's funny. I'd see him in Phoenix with the "DONT TOUCH" signs all over the tables. His prices were inflated, makes you think how he can stay in business.

On a side note, I'll be taking my "pre-ban" Colt blue label A2 Sporter Target. It's in excellent condition, paid $1200 over a year ago, looking to sell it.

I heard the radio spot on KXNT today and they advertised jewelry for the Crossroads show right on the radio!  The radio ad was actually really well done - but I was sure surprised to hear them mentioning jewelry on the radio, which contradicts their written ad.

Did anyone else catch that?

I heard an ad for the gunshow, but i didn't remember any jewelry being mentioned.  Discount coupons are avaliable for the gunshow at Citadel and ara dollar off.

Door price is $9.00 ( 8 with discount) and no parking fee.

Where do we go in to get to the show? Do we have to go through the hotel? If we do it might make it interesting for some of us wanting to sell rifles private party, I'd love to see what security does when a guy with an AR walks in the Tropicana with it slung around his shoulder.

Looks like there is an outside entrance........too bad

I am pretty sure that showroom spaces are in the rear of the hotel near the older rooms. We should be able to exit the showroom into the parking lot.

I remember going to a gunshow at the Tropicana about 15 years ago. I don't know what the casino looks like now because of growth but I am sure that it is somewhat the same. I can't see casino officials wanting guests to see people walk through the casino armed. I can't blame them either.

Ron

I heard the ad on the radio and it did say jewlery. I'm still gonna go check it out though. Anything is better than the " everything but guns" show at the cashman.
Anybody heard anything about Military discounts on the entrance fee?

We may not make it...if we do, we'll drive out tomorrow morning, but it's unlikely.  Would REALLY like a report on the show, as we're considering participating but the drive is...well....substantial.

A LOT of over priced mags, but some at reasonable prices.  The front half is mainly guns and the back half is parts and acessories.  A lot of people proud of thier guns, THere may have been some deals but I was looking for a particular rifle.  Not really surprised it was not there.

NOt bad for a gun show, it's certainly better that the crap at cashman.

Wow...seems like I missed out.  I"m still dreaming of the SAR show in Dec, hopefully the hype over the AWB sunset will be reflected in prices.

Any ammo deals?  I might hit it tomorrow, if so.

looked like the cashman show but smaller, waste of time And money ban free bushys 1450.00 ,the gun store price 900.00,mags still over priced, beef jerky was still within reason at 6.00 a bag,ASA uppers ,were about 535.00 and they don't do chrome lining cause that was for (machine guns)!.Ammo was even to citadel.
Save your admission fee and go local.
Shop at citadel and support our local guy.

Show was CRAP. I did not see any deals. Even the Miwall tables don't have the deals that they used to have.  There were plenty of bullshit tables with no gun stuff. That will be my last show I think. I do a lot better with internet buys on ammo and parts, especialy when it comes to Colt stuff.

Othen then being told i cant change any weapons that were made during teh ban because the ban was still in affect for them, it was ok.  I saw some deals that were ok, and some prices that were out rageous.  2200 for "PRE-Ban"

Buy your ammo at CG&S.  I only bought some 9mm, because it was 86 bucks for 1000, but they are reloads, great for DBS shooting.

I picked up some of those used M-14 mags for $20 as well. I also picked up a set of Russian AK laminated furniture.

The Aussie ammo was marked up $40 per case from that last RK Gun Show. It was the same company (I think Milwall) and they used to sell it for $129 a case (800 rounds) and now it's selling for $169 a case. I would rather buy some of that polymer Wolf .308 (1000 rounds) for $145 a case.

Some guys were still asking $75-$85 for "pre-ban" Glock mags and others were asking $25. FWIW, Bill's Buy and Sell has new, factory Glock mags for $25. I was laughing at all the "pre-ban" stickers on the mags.

I went with a bundle of cash to spend but I don't like blowing my money foolishly.

thanks,
Ron

EDITED TO ADD: Much better than the Claude Hall show. I didn't have to pay for parking, show was cheaper and about the same amount of gun-related items as the last Claude Hall show. Not bad for a first appearance in my opinion.

Started the afternoon by going down to citadel, but found them closed due to the show.  Grabbed a coupon off their door and hit the show.  Not really sure of what you guys are used to, but comparing it to the Tanner show we have in Colorado, this one was total shit.

Most of the stuff offered reminded me of shop defects. Saw a lot of mags that looked like they were tumbled in a trash can full of rocks. A few way-overpriced used pistols that someone was really proud of, and maybe at a collector type show may have sold.  There was the assortment of cheap knock off clone rifles that were around the normal asking price, if you want to take a chance on a CIA rifle or needed a pair of his/hers AK’s (saw a couple that had there new AK's slung up on there shoulders). My thought was if you were going to the show to find specific firearm or new part for a reasonable price, this was not it.

The pisser about the whole ordeal and the admission prices was the reason that I went to Citadel in the first place was I wanted to pick up a few RCBS parts, and maybe a few extra AR parts for the spare part kits.  Dam near shit myself when the price for peel washers were going for $4 a piece, and after two booths, just gave up looking for any deals on spare parts. Plus, not a single vendor selling any RCBS, or any type reloading supplies (reason to drop the $8 to get in the door and save on shipping).  The one thing that is did notice is that there were a lot of vendors buying there 8 CMP garands per year to mark up to sell at the show. Also a few class 3 items, but most were there to just take up table space (not really sure that anyone was shopping for a post sample M-249).

For the first time, I have walked out of a gun show without buying a thing.  Not really sure of the what kind of shows you guys are used to, but myself, I would have had better time just dropping the $8 in the slots than wasting it walking threw the show.

I didnt buy a damn thing.  Granted it was a better show than the claude balls shows...but prices still sucked and misinformation ran amock.

Only reason i go to those things is to find stuff that i can look for, and purchase over the internet.

The real gunshow is here folks, on the WWW.  And if you really want to know why gunshows blow, do this, collect some cards from a few of the vendors....then go home, and look at their website listed on their business card.

Then wonder why all the stuff on their website is listed at 10, 15, 20, and 20 dollars cheaper than you just saw it at the show.  YET, the prices at the show were "SHOW SPECIALS!"

Gun shows blow.  I want my 9 dollars back, and they owe me 20 bucks for my shorts that are ruined after that stupid black stamp on my hand, never dried, and rubbed off all over my pants.

bastards.

I went and checked out the show. I nearly ran some guy over who stepped out from between some parked cars. Then he proceeded to ask me for money after giving me some sob story about his old man in a veterans hospital. So solly GI me no help. Then on to the show. It was ok. I still dont understand why "Pre-ban" stuff was so highly priced. Citadel made a showing. Theyre good people. I didnt see a damn thing I wanted anywhere in the show. So I think Im going to stick with the locals and some online stuff. I think gun shows are done for me. Too much junk, and too many weirdos.

wow, this is a tough crowd! I liked the show Wolf, so you're not alone ;)

Got some glock mags, and a photon microlight II w/spare batteries. No jerky, no ammo this time. I was surprised to see One Eyed Jack's have preban glock mags for $25 a pop! The unmarked variety. there was one vendor with unmarked for $75, another for $55. I asked the guy "do you have an NON-CALIFORNIA glock mags?" and he showed me his LE marked ones lol

I'm not sure what could've made this show better--cheaper prices, obviously, but let's face it, we're in a 'transition period.' Ammo prices were not outrageous. Prices varied, and you can haggle with some of these guys (got a whole dollar off my glock mags). Some of you guys act like it would only be a good show if there was free beer and BJs at the door!
