Has any mention been made of the firearm the VA shooter used?

I have to believe it wasn't an AR-15 / AK-47 or other "Assault type weapon" based on the media silence.

If he had used such a gun, the press would be blaming the gun and not the shooter.

Any word on what he was using in the crime?
