...the difference between the NYSRPA and SCOPE?

I've been wondering for a while. I'm a member of the NYSRPA, and thinking about joining SCOPE. Do both organizations do the exact same thing, or do they have different functions? Is one more effective than the other? They don't seem to mention each other a whole lot.

I apologize if the answer is really obvious and I'm just not seeing it.

NYSRPA is more or less the state arm of the NRA, and covers everything shooting related. SCOPE is strictly politics.
