Just wanted to let everyone know that Coonan Arms is up and running in their Blaine facility.

They are working on the first 500 of the new model 357 magnum's

Talked with them on Friday and I will have my new ones for the collection in about 5-6 weeks.

These are a badass handgun.....

how much are they running?

I say the owner useing one at one of the pistol stages at the DPMS zombie shoot. i saw him get out the mags and they have a full lenght window on the side
of the mag like just about every .22lr 1911 i have ever seen. assumed it was a .22lr 1911.
then he started shooting

Ok, that looks awesome. Not a huge fan of that trigger on a 1911 style pistol, but I dont HATE it either.

A bunch of guys shot mine at the Outbreak. They are too fun. I took the picture
in my avatar there. Congrats on the purchase!

Coonan .357 Prices

Mags are 60 bucks a piece.  I guess a few years ago they were over 200!

I don't think the prices are too bad when you consider what other custom 1911's go for.

Thanks! I looked all over the site for prices and couldnt find it. I guess they hid it in plain sight on me.
They are about where I thought they would be.

They are making special Argy cut type 3's now too. They should have those available soon.

Yep, that's an inch kit, looks like a nice one.  You'll want an inch reciever to make it look original.

SWEEEEET!  I didn't know Coonan Arms made FAL receivers!

Just hope Dan feels like working that week and it gets made to spec, my 2nd Coonan receiver for my SBR was all F'ed up

Ended up being usable, had to squeeze the dustcover rails in in order to semi straighten out the lower side to fit the lower receiver. And the barrel hand timed at about 3 o'clock. Took a lot off the barrel to get that fit. Locking shoulder hole was .01 undersize.

The XGF's father had a Model B I got to shoot. Nice guns, when they're right

Go dsa if the price isn't too much more. I think you mean 38 super, don't think they will work.

Who'd a thunk, what a great collector. I doubt the coonan's will fit in the colts magwell since they are for .357.  I can get some dimensions off one if you want.

Haha, it better be a small group, it's not a very big shop. OK here are some mag dimensions.
Front to back = 1.64"
Side to side = .545"
top to bottom/back = 5.06"
top to bottom feed lips center = 5.2"
An option would be to cut and weld the mag, and instal a 38 special follower.
They make a 38 follower, I've never used mine because it's easier to load .357 lites.

I would say those prices are pretty reasonable on those.  Especially for it being somewhat custom and for how nice they shoot.  I wonder what the dealer pricing is.

I showed Grampa the 357mag semi auto and he thought, "Hmm... might actually stop something with that"

Coming from a guy who doesn't believe anything smaller than a full 357magnum 158gr wad cutter counts as "protection".

He had to dispatch a pair of skunks this summer and used his trusty Ruger Blackhawk over the weekend. Damn, that stunk...

He saw the price and didn't think it was real. But, liked the fact that they are "home grown".

He asked me to show it on my notebook later on and he was looking at his checking account he keeps away from Gramma's eyes. Who knows?!?!?

Pretty sure you can order one from them and they'll ship it to your favorite FFL for a transfer.

Sweet, I've got one of their old guns with the factory compensator.  Glad to see I'll be able to get new mags at decent prices and maybe down the line another pistol.
