I know if has been asked before but I can find the info.

I am looking into getting a suppressor and was wondering if anyone has dealt/heard of the following dealers?

Full Auto

DeGroat Tactical

If there is a Class 3 in ABQ let me know.

Thanks

Calibers is actually a class 3 and carry a few suppressors.  We I was in there a few weeks ago they did not have any class 3 firearms but said that they were expecting a couple couple SBRs in.  They also have the paperwork for a Form 1 if needed (that's what I went in there for.  They gave me 2 fingerprint cards).

Didn't know about Calibers.  I will have to stop by and talk to them.

What are you looking at getting?

Went in there for the Form 1 paperwork to build a SBR (they hooked me up with the finger print cards and directed me to the onlne forms).  I have the prints done, but am waiting for the lower to show up so that I can add the serial number and go get the signatures from the local CLEO.  It will be my first SBR and will be a 10.5".  I will eventually supress it (one step at a time) and will check there when I do.

I'm pretty excited about finally building one!  I ordered the upper the same time that I ordered the lower (about 2 weeks ago) but because the lower is taking so long (should be here today), the upper is going to get here WAY before my stamp is back (was told upper would take ~4weeks).  I'm definately going to have to take it to a friends house when it arrives so that I don't have to look at it...and to be on the safe side

I looked into a SBR a few months ago and I think I remember reading that you can't be in possession of any part of the SBR without the stamp in hand. Does that seem right LNL? Also, what kind of upper did you buy and lower. Hey, MAHA, recon rover had a bad review of fullautos.com in the local business review forum. They may be the same guys????

Looking at both websites they don't look the best that is one thing that is making me leery of them.  I found some good prices on some AR stuff over a year ago, the website was half-assed I ordered any way.  I didn't hear anything from them so I e-mailed them and canceled the order still didn't hear anything.  Called the CC and let them know to reject any charges that came from them.  So I try to find out what I can before ordering anything.  I try to stick with Site Sponsor, I haven't had any issues with any of them I used.

Caliber will be the way I go.  I have dealt with them and haven't had a bad experience in there.

IIRC you can have SBR upper parts if you don't have an extra lower to put them on, if so they can get you for Constructive Intent.

Ben - From what I understand you can have the lower in your possession even after sending in your Form 1.  Until you get the stamp back, the lower is just a standard lower.  Now the upper is another sorry...I have read where some people say you can have a SBR upper in your possession as long as you don't mount it, some say you can have it as long as you don't have an "extra lower" (meaning it's ok even if you have another complete AR), and some say that if you have 'any' lower in your possession at all (even a completed riffle) you cannot have the shortie in your possession.  I'm not really going to risk it either way...I plan on keeping at a friends house who does not own any type of AR.

I'll keep you guys posted on the process and make a thread once I actually send in the Form 1.  I'll document everything that I have to do and attach links in the event it will help someone else.

Fri-
Thanks for posting this!!  I thought I had been to all of the gun shops around here but had no idea about this place.  I went there today and he had a Spike's stripped lower (plain one) in stock...the same one that I have been waiting for 3 weeks for at S&S.  Finally, I can get my form 1 turned in!  The owner (James) was very cool and very easy to talk to.  I told him that the only reason I knew about his place was because of you post...he said that he remembered you coming in Saturday.  Again...thanks for posting
