Tony,
It's not the type of firearm, it's the type of competition, ie, SR matches with UK legal rifles.

BTW, there is no real advantage shooting these with  "Service" type rifle.

We "Civvies" regularly wipe the floor with the Military shooters.

Will there still be SR practice on Sunday the 5th March now?
If so, I might just make a weekend of it

Why practice when you can do it for real?

The SR matches will take two days if you enter all the matches. Just like the Imperial.

Matt
ps does anyone know if Marion is opening up in March?

What a bunch of Nancy's...The .303 British is a pleasant and accurate calibre!!! I could spend a whole day shooting ,even with the brass butt plate.

Now, if this Enfield was converted to 7.62x51...That might be a bit different.

Wally ,the I'm gonna get shite for this

Not from me Wally, the No5 is a pussy cat it's just mind over matter, I don't mind 'cause after an hour my shoulder doesn't matter anymore

My .303 BSA SMLE is a bit of a kicker. I find the stock design to be rather uncomfortable which probably doesnt help. I fired a friends 8mm Mauser which had worse recoil....

Going to Whittington tomorrow, i'll take the SMLE along for a bit of fun

The .303 was never that accurate, not even the 'T' models. Kar98 was a more accurate base rifle.

As for yank rifles, they don't need to be that accurate, just need to be good nough to hit a barn door from the inside at 20 paces, after all, all I see is people shooting at sandberms in US shooting posts...

fixed it for ya!

Streetfighters initial post implied a one day (Saturday) comp. So now its a two day match?
