I have two questions really.
1. I'm from Georgia, so am I still prohibited from carry in SC?

2. I'm going to Charleston Aug 25-29 what is there to do?  My wife is in a wedding one of those days, for the rest of the week we are free.

1.  To the best of my nkowledge, SC and GA do not yet have reciprocity and I haven't heard of the GA permit being recognized.  Check the SC SLED site for details.

You are OK to carry a loaded handgun in your console or glovebox.


2.  There is a lot of history in the area.  

- Carriage tours downtown are good.  

- Plantations (Boone Hall up 17 and several on 61)

- There are tour boats that do the harbor.  The Thriller Charleston is a speedboat tour I did a while back.

- Patriots Point is good for naval/military history.  Bring your walking shoes.

- LOTS of good places to eat.  I like hitting A.W. Shucks when I'm downtown.

- Melvin's Barbecue in Mt. Pleasant was nationally recognized for their cheeseburger.  I've tried it a couple times - not bad.

- Fort Sumter for Civil War

- Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island

That's a start...

As far as history goes, try to do one of the Bulldog Tours.

They are awesome.
