I just received my new internet bill. It went up $5 from last month.

Do I need to speak to the manager?

This is ridiculous. Does anyone else deal with this provider?

When I lived in northern AZ, Centurylink was awesome.

Now that I live in Phoenix, Centurylink sucks. Super slow and inconsistent in billing. I haven't had an issue in over a decade, moved here and also got a business line, and I've already been on the phone with them 3 times in 5 months.

I am not happy with the service, either. The sudden $5 a month jump in subscription rate did it.

I will be calling them tomorrow.

Good luck speaking with a manager.  I spoke with a few people in a couple different foreign countries regarding my bill from Century Link, which is also combined with Direct TV.  This has went on for 4 months.  Down graded my service but never a drop in my bill.

Just cancelled Direct TV and got Sling and a TV antenna.  Works good.  I went from $79 a month to $25.

Waiting for my new bill and I am sure I will be looking for a new internet provider very soon.  Waiting to see what it cost.

I had to buy out my contract and they just sent me a box for the equipment.  Can't wait to get rid of it.

Telling them you are going to another provider might give them incentive to find specials to keep you but you'll be on the phone for a while and there are no guarantees.

A few years ago I called them to cancel with no intent of staying with them.  I was transferred to a guy who came up with an offer which was less than what I was paying and higher speeds.  That call lasted 45 minutes and the offer was good for only 1 year.  When I got the bill, it was $5 more than what I was told so I called them back and was told they can't give me that price and if I want to cancel the service.  That was another 30 minute call.  I stuck around for a year because it still wasn't a bad deal.  When the year was up, the fee more than doubled and they didn't have any specials to offer me so I switched.  I don't think I'll ever go back with Century Link.

Definitely call them. If the first person you speak to doesnt help you tell them you have a great offer from Cox and you'd like to cancel your CenturyLink service. They should then send you to the retention department  they WILL take care of you.

My wife and I switched from Century Link to Western WiMax and haven't looked back. No bill fuckery, good speeds. Fuck Century Link.
