Fire is going crazy.

20k-ish Acres burnt and 6% containment last night at midnight.

40k+ burnt and 3% containment this morning at 6 AM.

Redding.com and KCRA on the TV had had the most up-to-date coverage.

It’d be nice to see a map with destruction plotted, but nothing yet.

We have a few friends who have lost houses already.

We went to French Gulch in 2011 and it looked like most of the north half of town burned out in the 2009 or 2010 fires.  Sounds like the rest has burned.

That’s my hometown, I’ve got family evacuated as well, and friends. One of the firefighters killed was a high school buddy of my cousins husband. Everyone stay safe.

It was a dude pulling a trailer/toy hauler with a flat.

Did he pull off the road and his catalytic converter lit the grass on fire, or something like that?

So, there no deliberate act involved?

(rant mode on)

Isn't stupid a crime yet?

With six dead and 150 sq. miles burned (100,000 acres), will there be no penalty or reparations for his self-indulgent stupidity?

Probably not.
