Use this thread to work out ideas for a Carolina marked lower AR reciever.
I'm in for one. Regardless of the design. FWIW I think #2 above would look pretty cool with the NC Flag and the NC state outline where the VA outline is.
ETA: If we don't put AR15.com on it, we won't have to ask permission, and I think I could recruit a few more folks into buying them (guys that aren't ARFCOM regulars). Knowing that I could probably find homes for at least three, I bet we could get 40 or 50 total recievers. |

sent a email on this to Tom Sawyer Manufacturing.
unless some knows someone locally that does engraving. |

got a reply

Did Tom Sawyer indicate a group rate was possible? What is VA getting their's for? I'm thinking the DPMS might be the way to go, unless we could get a good deal on some RRA's.

I can Do 1 for sure possible a few more, Any sample logo's made up that we can chose from? I'd like to see something tasteful with a little "Tarheel" foot or the Wright Flier. no Dogwoods though.

I'm sure the state and duke fans will like this onehttp://graphicsink.com/area51/foot.jpg

No offense meant Lesbaer, I was actually meant something along the lines of the NC outline with the foot inside or the wright flier.
While I'm not a State or Duke Fan or a Carolina fan for that matter, I thought it would fit since we are the"Tarheel State" Jason |
Since this says "Carolina" marked lower, how about one with an SC logo. Like maybe the crescent moon and palm, etc?

Oh I'm not offended. Just no fan of UNC. Remember guys, the fancy artwork that shows up so well on the computer screen isn't going to transfer all that well to the lower. Simple uncomplicated designs would probably be best. Perhaps an outline of the state with the legislative building in the middle of the outline. A simple motto at the bottom? "We'll tax anything & everything". |
I was thinking, to make it a true "Carolina's" version, maybe just an outline of the states with "Esse quam videri" above and "Dum spiro spero" below. And maybe just for my amusement, "For civilian use only" or "For citizen's use only" on the opposite side |
"sessesionist's black rifle"
"official Carolina Yankee stopper" just a thought Gary |
I want one that says "The South Will Rise Again"
Maybe have that text inside the NC state outline. |
What about Black Rifles of the Carolina's that cover both north and south
I would think that you would want seperate north and south versions as they have to be picked up in your state's FFL anyways.
Love it! History, '03 hippie.gif edit: I also would like a "Keep N.C. Zombie Free" lower very similar to the one posted above. |
Uh, yes. Edit: On second thought, they're right. It probably wouldn't come out very well when actually engraved, so...how about "GO TO HELL DUKE" instead? |

Count me in for a couple. |
Whyn'tcha just paint it blue while you're at it? :) NCSU '91 I really like the idea of an NC/SC combined state outline, maybe with a superimposed AR silhouette |
if we can get enough SC members then i would go for it also. |
One other idea would be a simple state outline with the circle-slashed zombie.
Could we get a custom "safe/fire" text on the lower too? Maybe "zombie" and "no zombie"? Now that would be the shiznit. |
I wouldn't buy something like that. I would be in for several like the ones i quoted in the first part of the post. I want something just aobut our state, not zombies and basketball teams, etc.... |
Yea I could even handle both states outlined.... |

NC/SC State outline plus the confederate battle flag baby!!!

Here's a link of a sample of the artwork that I created. http://graphicsink.com/area51/cbr_images/cbr.jpg
This is a link to the Vector artwork file that the engraver may need to do the work. eps file for artwork(824k) a final look. http://graphicsink.com/area51/cbr_images/cbr_final.jpg |

I like the designs. Let me drum one up and see what I can get...
I'd be down for at least one, maybe two depending on when this would all go down. Okay... give me a few minutes to come up with something... EDIT: Okay, 5 minutes later, here's what I've got. Picture the gun with a more defined out line, I know it's too detailed. Also picture and SC version too. I'd like to see a state distinction personally. It's similar to other ideas, but with minor adjustments. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/812/ncblackrifle2nh.jpg |
why not make something Original , not something that the other state groups made
why not make something a lil diffrent :) |
Thats a good Idea |
