New to Fort Worth and asking the boards once again for some AR help. Im needing help putting on my muzzle brake. Its the Troy Medieval brake and I just cant seem to crush the washer enough to have it installed with the logo up like it instructs. I have no vice for the rifle and I don't want to over do it being anxious to put it on. So if you think you can please let me know. I can meet and pay for your time if you'd like also looking for someone close by, Im located in the "cultural district" 7th st. area near UNT health and science. Thanks

I'd help, but the gas from a 6hr round trip will pay for proper gunsmithing services.
Buy a vice and a armorers wrench.  Saves money and it is an investment

I may be able to help next week. I don't have a good bench anymore but I have verifying else. I'm over by the ridgmar/carswell area.

Got here a bit late for the request.  I have uninitial mobile vice on a box.

My personal pet peeve would be to use the vise to hold the barrel (with something in-between to prevent marring) while installing a muzzle device.  Some may argue, but when using a mag block, I don't like all the torque put on the little pin lining up the barrel along with the pressure put on the aluminum receiver.

Glad you got it installed.

I just sand down the crush washer a tad until it indexes with reasonable torque...
