I think the deadline for registration is the end of this year. I have a pre 2000 Bushy, registered as an AW. Can I also register it as a 50 just in case I get the hankering for one in the future?

Thank you.

If it's already registered as an AW, you don't need to re-register it. You can go out and buy a .50 BMG upper and place it on your lower.

For 50BMG rifles, I think the reg. deadline would be Apr 30, 2006. Isn't it?

#  If a .50 BMG rifle is already registered as an assault weapon, does it need to be registered under the provisions of the .50 Caliber BMG Regulation Act of 2004?

.50 BMG rifles already registered as assault weapons pursuant to the assault weapons laws in effect prior to January 1, 2005 DO NOT need to be registered again to satisfy the requirements of the .50 Caliber BMG Regulation Act of 2004..

Here's a picture for you to help you in your daydreams.

I bought the single shot DPMS lower a few months before the ban went into effect so that I could register it as a 50BMG.   Bought it specifically for the purpose of sparing any abuse to the precious registered AR15s.

Now you just need to paint a similar sticker on the barrel that says "This end towards people  ->"

There is an AR10 and 20inch gov't. AR15 not in the above picture.

Trying to figure out if I shouldn't get 1 or 2 non-named lowers as well to have as backups once they get added to the AW named receivers list.     Would be nice to have backup lowers in the event one of my precious little AR15 lowers should be damaged.     Wish I had a chance to get a 2nd AR10 back before 2000 as well.
