I read this excerpt today...

Pertaining to the new handgun ban in San Francisco... "As such, the ban would clearly conflict with state law, which stipulates that 'no permit or license to purchase, own, possess, keep or carry [a handgun], either openly or concealed, shall be required of any citizen of the United States or legal resident over the age of 18 years who resides or is temporarily within this state.' "

My question; If I'm reading this correctly, concealed carry does not require a CHL/CCW permit, it's already codified as state law. Is this true?

I've emailed the author of the opinion piece requesting the code to the article of law in question.

Can anyone else shed some light on this?

the County regulates it. Around SoCal, very hard to get a CCW in LA county, but easy if you're in San Bernardino or Riverside counties.
