Paul,

The company I work for, Northrop-Grumman Corp., has pledged an initial $2M and started a dollar-for-dollar matching program for employee contributions. This is what America is all about - taking care of our own.

The pharmacy I manage will be matching donations from yesterday and today given in the pharmacy. Figure it should raise about $4000.00, if folks give.

Where will the donations be sent?

Hopefully Salvation Army? Hopefully not the Red Cross. YMMV.

We may be taking in a 'cousin thrice removed' to finish out HS. Hope it works out for the young man.

The ones from my pharmacy will be going to the Red Cross. I tried to talk the owner into the Salvation Army, explaining the 9/11 situation, but he felt more would donate if it was the Red Cross.

Oh well, his call.

My donations went directly to folks I know down there, either IRL or on some of the internet hunting boards I frequent.

The short of it. Of all the money donated to the Red Cross to help the 9/11 victims, a large percentage of the cash was going to be put away for a future disaster. This was announced, after the major donations came in and 9/11 folks started questioning where the money was.

Do a google search for red cross and o'reilly. He took the lead on exposing them.
