omw home from zombie shoot I swung into cabela's, I'd received a sale flyer in the mail so I know they had a event going on this weekend.

Things are on sale that are not marked or advertised.

I bought:

Tac, regular price $19.99 rang up as $17.99

1000 CCI small rifle magnum primers reg $32.99 rang up $26.99

box of hornady 75gr bthp reg $17.99 rang up $14.39

That's all I bought so I don't know what else might have been on sale, probably everything.

Just thought I'd let you all know

A bunch of us went there Saturday because our plans for the day got rained out.  The place was packed.  A couple of employees that I see all the time said it was the busiest Saturday that they had seen in the last 6 months.

The new store layout SUCKS.  The isles are too narrow and you can't hardly get a cart down any isle in the gun section because of how they shrunk all the isles when they closed the upstairs.  It is rediculous to keep asking people to move so that you can get down an isle with a cart.  We all had a list of things to get BUT, the majority gave up trying to move through the store and went outside.

Went to the gun counter to buy a gun that was on sale and it took 1/2 an hour to get waited on.  The paperwork went quickly and then 45 minutes waiting in line to get checked out.  The line went from the counter altl the way into the safe section.  The person at the counter said that they could only check out gun sales a one register because that is the only register that they could use.

Nothing to apologize for.  I've never been to the one in Hoffman Estates.  The one in Hammond is closer to me, and easier to get to, especially given that the most direct way to Hoffman involves taking the Eisenhower to the NW Tollway (or whatever the hell they call it now).

ETA $14.39 is a pretty good price for Hornady 75gr.  If I didn't have so much of it already, I'd be there right now.  Sure beats the $1+/round that it usually sells for.

When did they close the second floor?  Is the restaurant and stuffed African animals still there/open?

Crap.  Both my kids liked going there, eating, looking at the animals. etc.  Does anyone know if they have done the same at the store outside Milwaukee?

IIRC, it had something to do with reducing property tax...too much usable square footage resulting in increased property taxes...that's the Chicago way!
