I have looked over the state gun laws and the CT State Hunting Laws but did not find any info about it be allowed or not allowed to hunt with a suppressor in CT.

Did I miss/overlook something? Can I hunt Squirrel/Small Game in CT with a .22 and (legally owned) suppressor?

Now how about SBR's? If I own a .22 SBR can I use it for hunting, or am I going to catch flack with the game wardens?

Anyone have any info on this? Thanks!

Well I thought I'd update this thread since soneone answered it over in the Full Auto forum:

Quoted: Well, here's you answer- finally. According to Sec. 26-75 of the CT General Statutes, you may not use a silencer on any firearm while hunting.

As far as SBRs are concerned, the only thing you might run afoul of is CT's definition of handgun, which is any firearm with 12" of barrel or less. Even if it's got a full buttstock, anything with less than 12" of barrel can be interpreted as a handgun. The General Statutes don't prohibit short-barrelled rifles at all. They only mention sawed-off shotguns.

So there you have it. NO Suppressor hunting in CT.

I assumed this was the case, but could not find the law. Thanks NEWGUN!!
