My car broke down on the way, so I didn't get to play.
Show me your pic's so I can see what fun looks like. I almost took a pic of my car on the back of the tow truck, but was too bummed out about it. I realized when I was waiting to get towed that I don't have any Arfcommer's phone numbers in my cell phone. |
Don't feel bad - I didn'y make it either.
Nothing but phone calls and office work for me. Waiting on pictures of the fun ~ |
Yeah, none of you bitches made it...Cracka Barrel table for one... Well, not exactly, one guy and his son showed up for breakfast... It was DELICIOUS!
But you missed a great time! My pics will prolly be up tomorrow. Not sure if I got any good ones yet, we were spread out alot today. ByteTheBullet (-: |

AAR report:
OK, who was it that let me shoot his M4gery w/coolscope? Was that you cdtracing? One of the group had a newish Bushie that broke the extractor. I would have had a spare for him, except I didn't take my COLT AR, so didn't need my AR spares. LarryG was there and couldn't find everyone who wanted FREE ammo cans!. He was complaining that you can't give good stuff away. I think it was PrisonBus (not sure) who was practicing clearing drills with her AR. Long reloads will do that. And who is it that has the ARFCOM vanity license plate? |
Me, Nivuahc, gsu2720 and a friend of Nivuahc's (an unregistered AR15.com reader) were at the Cracker barrel this morning...I got there a little before 8 AM. I had a great time. I'll tell my story later on tonight. I just finished removing the stuck case from the 'ol AKS-74 and cleaning it, and there's still 2 more rifles to go 'till I'm done. I'll be watching for the pics! On the white truck? |
Sorry Larry, I would have taken at least two of 'em. |
I forgot to mention:
I got to ce about 9:15. When I got out of the truck, I heard gunfire from the poistol range. I sat on the tailgate of my truck till the Ranger arrived (5 minutes later). End result, a $250 fine + court costs for the fellow who didn't read/heed the sign. Range hours are clearly posted. |
His son was delicious?!?!? You cannibal! JK |
Yup |

I am still fighting the one from last year for supposedly shooting past quitting time. |
I guess you shouldn't have been shooting past quitting time. |
And where was your sorry butt today? |
Moving a warehouse from Norcross to Marietta. |
You could have just done what mail guys do when they want to be at the range but are forced to work, GO POSTAL! That way we would have known what happened to you via 11Alive. |
I wasn't. There were 2 of us there. He heard shooting. He didn't actually see who was shooting. He gave us both tickets. No, I don't know the other guy. |
Guess who. |
You're goin' down, pal. |
They also caught 2 Illegals and some joker with a visa who was NOT allowed to have a firearm. I hope they deport them, they were detained. Yea! |
No Shit? |
They won't do shit. Their idea of deportation is the scumbags leaving on their own unescorted. Our system sucks. |

Oh %^#$, I have your cell # on my phone and tried to call you at CE, but Cingular phone reception was nil there. I'll IM my cell # immediately, I hope everything worked out fine.
I'll definately help out a fellow Arfcommer in a tight spot.

Whatchu talkin' bout Willis? |
Err, please don't tell me you didn't take a single photo shot of me, while I was enjoying your Garands and USPs. See, I offered the chance to shoot my USPc.
Yes...that's me. No, I'm not Italian. |
Actually, those are all the pictures I took. I guess I wasn't in the photojournalist mode today. |
Yes, that was my latest fiendish creation. My next will involve a Russian M44, scope mount, drill press, and dremil. I felt bad about that guys extractor. The wife got me a new range bag last week and not all my parts and tools made the transfer yet. Kinda got in a hurry this morning, lucky I remembered the ammo. Nice meeting y'all today. Chris |

NOOOOOO. I should have stuck around a little more, but I had to report to the local salt mine to do my part of the slave labor so I can have food on the table...
Where are all the pictures?
Am I going to have to try and get another shoot going so I can have some pics? |
My absence at the range was totally JKisers fault! We talked and chatted for 4+ hours!!! That guy... amazing individual.
Me and my buddy made it to Hooters at about 5:00pm then left there and went to CE just as it was about to close. Really bummed that I missed out meeting all of you, had a great time at Cracka Barrel, really sorry I couldn't get those cans from Larry, and had a blast hanging out with JKiser. It's official... if I didn't have it before, I now, officially, have Black Rifle Disease. I'm already planning my second build and I'm just getting started on my first. - Chuck |
+1 Pretty please? |

I wish I had a camera...I would have made some pics yesterday, but everyone knows the standard excuse of why I don't have one. (spending all my money on guns, ammo, bills, etc etc.)
I had a damn great time. Went to Cracker Barrel & met three other AR15.com fans mentioned in my earlier post, drove out to the range and made a wrong turn after turning into CE...I guess the shooting range is a state secret, considering the complete lack of signs. They'd be able to write more tickets and raise more revenue if people knew it was there. The range must have been "cold" when we drove by it the first time, so it was easy to miss. I should have read Bookhound's directions closer, also. There were a lot of nice weapons there, but the one that stood out to me was someone's 7.62 AR. It was kinda cool to see those big cases flying out of an AR-style rifle. My Colt 20" HBAR & Sabre Defence/LMT midlength worked flawlessly, but my IGF-built AKS-74 had a stuck case and I got it out on the workbench in the garage back home. It turned out that I could have gotten it out at the range with no problem. The case came out easily with a cleaning rod & hammer with one tap. It was barely stuck...I didn't even damage the cleaning rod getting it out! That was the first time that ever happened to me, so it was a learning experience. I brought 2 pistols and my 9mm AR, but I didn't shoot them. I'll save that for another weekend very soon. I have a bunch of 9mm ammo to use, but I'm almost out of .223. argh. My home-made target survived the shoot and I'll be able to make one minor repair in order to make it usable for the next visit. Yesterday was the first time that I've gone to an outdoor range in at least 18 years. You'll never see me in an indoor range again! I really like CE, and I'm embarrassed that I haven't visited it sooner, considering that I live no more than 30 minutes away from it. I was happy with my shooting from the bench. I'll remember to bring my spotting scope next time. I'm not all that good shooting standing up, but I guess it was ok. I really like the longer-range shooting possible at an outdoor range, so I'll be getting more practice at it soon. I say from now on, let's just skip the Cracker Barrel thing and meet at the range. It's a little easier to spot AR15.com members that way...maybe some labels stuck to our shirts with our names/screen names wouldn't hurt, either. I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to another visit to CE with my fellow AR15.com members. Scott P.S. Sorry to hear about your car troubles, birdbarian. That's always a downer. |

You would think that out of all the black rifles, one of you cheapo's would break down and shell out the $$$ for a digital camera.
ETA - why am I NOT surprised that 1/2 of LarryG's pics are of PrisonBus? |
Damn bro, that sux. How did you refrain from using the car for impromptu target practice? Doesn't it run in the family? |
I was gonna bring Macaroni's hand me down camera. |
Well, duh. |
If she started charging royalities, you would be in trouble. But I understand your point. |

I had a 7.62 out there on Sat. I also had a 12 ga pump, and a flintlock. My buddy had his and his dad's 12 ga.
Man, I had a blast, no pun intended, I even got to shoot an ACOG And now I know why they are so expensive, because they are worth it. Can't wait to shoot again. |
Damn I miss shooting with you bunch of weirdo's and perv's .... Sorry I didn't ever get to meet prisonbus. . A few of us have had to go out of state.. Ghost., MaimMakorav, and looks like Delta Air.... But looks like yall got some good guys showing up. I lived in Monroe county ( Forsyth ). Glad to see yall have fun. Cheers WarDawg

Dang, I missed another. I'll aim for making the suppressor shoot.
Dude...Not long reloads, I can recogonize the difference between 69 gr and 80 gr bullets, and I've got a AMU chamber on that rifle, I can shoot 80's out of that rifle all day long. I was shooting up old ammo instead of throwing it away, thus the problem. |
I left my camera at home but, I can be seen in this thread having fun! I'm thinking of coming to that shoot but, I left a question in the other thread about that... |
Not meaning to offend, been a reloader for 25 years or so, and the nature of your "jam" appeared to be a classic failure to compleatly resize the case, resulting in a tight fit . Not referring to OAL, but shoulder setback, or lack thereof. Leade, freebore, whatever has nothing to do with case fit in the chamber. Good you were able to use up some old ammo. |
