y'all need to try to get to some of these matches! They are the MOST FUN you can have with your AR15 or other carbine... seriously.

I can't because I have to work Saturdays. But I'm gonna try to get that changed. Three months of this schedule is enough!

Mike, Can't make it this Sat. as I have to work. Don't know why they scheduled this event on a Sat. but they did.

Though I will probably bring out the carbine to the night shoot, so make sure and have some totally dark bays.

Cool! Another opportunity for me to say "I'll be there," then back out.

Mike,
Got your email the other day about the match, then today I was handed a project at USAA that probably will have to be done on Sat and Sun - it's all in the ceiling above the main (walking) hallway.

If I can, I'll be there.

(This isn't funny anymore)

Wish I could, but I've burned a few vacation/sick days already taking off Saturdays. They're redoing the schedules, and have me down for the same one, but I'm gonna bitch and moan until they change it. F this working on Saturdays stuff!!

OH YEAH! I get to use all my no-ban goodies! Well, no ban rifles.

Oh, and Mike, if you have a stage that calls for a knife, is it ok for me to fix bayonets? (Just kidding!)

Oh well - I'm not working today and packed everything last evening. Guess I'm ready for next Sat.

Hey Mike,
Being of sound mind and body, I have a question for you.

As you know, I'm not terribly worried about my times during these shoots, so... If I use only slugs, can I shoot my shotgun instead of a carbine? I need some practical shooting with my scatter gun.
(As long as I can round up enough reduced load slugs, that is)

EDIT: I realize my request is quite a divergence from the intended purpose of your Carbine match, so I understand your saying, "No." HAHA! Just thought I'd ask... Thanks.

I would suspect you could use a shotgun, and be in the 'limited' class. I had thought about using my shiny new lever action carbine, but it's a PITA to reload. I've seen an M1 used before... and I've used an M1 Carbine before...

Heck, throw me in any class - it doesn't matter. As you know, the carbine matches have more targets, barricades, etc than the shotgun side matches - I'm looking for this type of shooting. Need to get back to shooting like that with the scatter gun.

Yep, reloading will be different - just more practice to be gained. Mike or Chuck (?) told me that someone did use a lever action before. If I had one, I'd use it once or twice also. Man, that would be some wear and tear on the shoulder with a 30-30, eh? HAHA!

We've probably seen the same guy with the M1 - he wears that kc-135 hat...can't remember his name.
