I called again yesterday to oppose the revisions in 5818 that remove the word HANDGUN and insert the word FIREARM.

Before I could get my name and position on the bill out, the woman who answered the phone said: "We've been getting a lot of calls on this .... and you are opposed to it, right?"

This is GOOD!

It means they know its unpopular

I actually got a phone call from Tom Reynolds (my district's rep) yesterday, returning the call I placed with his office.  I'm making another call to the governors office now.

Lol.  That goes back a few years steve!!  Well, i got my money back from them.  I just received a "new" stick yesterday.  M1A from April of 1985, preban, left the factory as a M1A-A1, folding stock bush model with vented handguard.  It was in CA, and the folding stock was removed and replaced sometime in the past 21 years with a NM walnut bedded stock, with DOD and P intact, very nice wood with a gloss finish.  USGI SA bolt and trigger housing, old garand hammer, now has Sadlak NM spring guide and gas piston in it.  I also just got in a USGI synthetic and brich grade 2 tiger strip nr 100% from Freds today.  Gonna try to clean up the birch tomorrow.  I got to put 40 rds south african surplus thru it yesterday.  im not the best with irons, but i managed to get 2 good called shots at 80 yds that were touching.  did a 5 round group, pulled 1 way out, 2 more were ok, but 2 were dead on when the shot fired.  Those were the 2 touching :)  I need more iron sight practice!  I have a sadlak scope mount that is up at Sadlaks shop, so I gotta go pick that up sometime to really give it an accuracy testing! Flash hider has a nice ring to it, too!

As we have been reporting, the anti-gun crowd has redoubled their efforts to pass last year’s proposal to make it a crime to fail to report the loss or theft of a firearm within 72 hours from when you “knew or should have known” of the theft.

This year’s version is outrageous! HB 5818, now includes language that would subject gun owners to criminal investigation and jeopardy of prosecution even if they report the theft because a court will now be given the ability to decide whether the firearm was stored in such a manner that provided “substantial and unjustifiable risk” that it would be stolen.

Even worse, if the police recover the firearm before the gun owner has discovered it missing and made the report, it will be considered automatic evidence of guilt of violation of this proposed law, as well as guilt of an illegal transfer.

Conviction of the “illegal transfer,” which is a felony, would permanently end your right to own a firearm!  In response to the large number of phone calls that are coming in from legitimate gun owners, Connecticut Against Gun Violence has put out desperate pleas to the anti-gun crowd asking them to write, e-mail and call lawmakers in an effort to drown out your voice!

It won't. goblin, you were a legislator, you know these antigunners are not "misinformed" It's a deliberate agenda to disarm all citizens and then impose their ideas into laws to control  us.
We used to say years ago "Oh, they just don't know the facts". That's not true, they do know the facts;
they know gun control doesn't work and they even admit it's not about reducing crime.

If we look deep and long enough into their backgrounds and agendas, it's obvious they're about
creating a left wing socialist state with an elitist socialist class to determine laws, rules, beliefs and morals for the rest of us.

Look at Mike Lawlor, the man has a Communist schooling posted right on his bio on his website.
Sen. Looney is LOONY. He once stated that his "constituents" WANT "communism".

They might have duped some people but the sad part is they come from areas where only ONE THING matters for an election - being a Democrat. We live in an era where elected officials like Jesse Jackson junior from Illinois and Senator Boxer are actual card carrying DUES PAYING supporter of the Communist party. People like Senator Barrick OBAMA are rising stars. How's that for scary?
