Thank you. I have fallen in love with Maui. I think my fiance is the one pushing this one. She did not like the living on the beach joke.
I also have a couple of ARs, hunting bolt actions, Shoties, and pistols.

heres the quick rundown on hawaii laws,
pistol mags limited to 10 rounds. ar15 mags limited to 10 rounds, ak47 types no mag cap limit. basically if the mags fits into a pistol its limited to 10 rounds. no full autos, no sbr, no aow no concealed carry. semi autos and bolt actions are fine. they are proposing a .50 cal ban as we speak and hopefully it gets shut down. the laws kinda suck and need much improvement, but at least its not as bad as kalifornia. good luck on buying a new home. laters.

Specipiclly, AOW & DD ; were never mentioned in the Hawaii Law.
Some had managed to registered a few DD in Hawaii.
AOW are NFA and is neither a "pistol nor rifle" under Federal Law.
(the above information has been Verified by xxx) no names mentioned.

You might look at property in HOVE that backs onto the new Hawaii Volcanoes National park extension. It was formerly the Kahuku Ranch and they ended up selling to the feds. Be nice to have all that vacant land behind your lot. One thing about HOVE, make sure your lot has electricity and phone service. Also be advised a lot of the lots use water catchment, at the lower elevations that may be problematic. You're in the rain shadow of Mauna Loa. If it's dry you'll have to pay someone to haul water to you. Higher elevations usually get more rain and are cooler. You'll also need to put in a septic system, cesspools used to be the norm but no more. Honsador and HPM also have package home deals. There's quite a building boom going on islandwide so you may have to look around for a while to get someone to put your place up. The community has been trying to get the state to improve the water situation by drilling wells but who knows? They recently got a Basic Life Support Medic and a Fire Engine so that situation has improved. You're also living on the slope of a live volcano, on the ride out there you'll pass over a few flows that have come down the mountain. There's also a new shipping line called Pasha that's now shipping to Hawaii. I heard they were slightly cheaper than Matson. As to firearms, we get by the best we can. The prior descriptions were pretty much spot on.
Good Luck.
