Oct. 24th at the Rams Head Tavern say 6 or 7pm?

I'll bring my Topographical Maryland & PA map books.

I've been thinking about the same thing lately.

For me, there aren't many circumstances where bugging out would improve my odds, so I'm most likely staying put up here in rural Pennsylvania.

However, I do recognize the need for more people and the need for a team approach.

Thane and I are both up in PA now, having fled MD last year. Thane is a bit close to the border, I think I'm in a better position.

I think this is something we need to explore more.

Me too. But unfortunately its hard to get a few people together for a shoot a month ahead of time so I don't know if Im posting this for nothing.

But a few really serious people that can rely on eachother in a SHTF scenario can be an amazingly helpful tool.

If anyone is wanting to do this lets make it happening!

Perhaps this would be a good discussion for a dinner event (perhaps separte from the montly one - at a time I could attend?).

when is a good time?
Link Posted: 9/24/2003 2:02:57 PM EDT
Friday night (3rd of October), or any day after the 14th of October.
Link Posted: 9/24/2003 6:23:04 PM EDT
3rd, or after the 16th would be best for me.

Note - we have a NE campout the 18th & 19th, I believe.
Link Posted: 9/26/2003 10:07:30 AM EDT
Seems like we may be the only ones serious.

Since we are talking about the middle of October I guess we will wait a little while to get a set date for a meet. That way if anyone else wants to chime we can be a little more flexible.
Link Posted: 9/26/2003 9:57:12 PM EDT
I'm in. I've shot with M4 and fight4yourrights before. I work until 3:00 PM on weekends. Anyother time is good. Since it's October we should go somewhere with good beer.
Link Posted: 10/3/2003 8:15:14 PM EDT
Friday October 24th sound good?

3 weeks for others who might be willing to go to get off and sorts.

How about we meet at a central location say....Glen Burnie or Annapolis.

Link Posted: 10/4/2003 1:03:48 PM EDT
Isn't there a micro brewery in Annapolis? Rams Head Tavern? They are on 33 west street. Nothing eases a sore back after a long drive like good fresh beer.
I could go in the early evening, but couldn't stay late, as I work Sat. mornings.
What do ya'll think?
Link Posted: 10/6/2003 12:06:58 PM EDT
Annapolis or Glen Burnie work for me.

F4YR if its in Annapolis - meet up at my place and we'll head down there in the Jeep.
Link Posted: 10/9/2003 11:53:29 PM EDT
So is this a go or what?

I'd like to come but Friday nights just aren't good for me. I have bowling till about 7:00-7:30 and then I just usually like to go home and crash. Saturdays would be better but not a guarantee.

I'd like to join ya, but Friday nights are a no-go for me. Sorry.
Link Posted: 10/14/2003 11:05:08 AM EDT
I'd go but, since i'm 16, I don't think i can make it.
Link Posted: 10/15/2003 12:17:31 PM EDT
7pm on the 24th then!

I just had surgery, and until I have my next surgery that will fix me I'm on Morphine and can't drive. I'm gonna see how my back is feeling that day and maybe I'll skip the morphine and drive up to Annapolis. I really want to get together with ya'll again, it's been too long, so hopefully it will work out. M4 I'll give you a call on the 24th and let you know for sure either way.
Link Posted: 10/22/2003 6:42:14 AM EDT

Where you at? Maybe somebody could pick you up.

BTW - my wife has been driving on elephant numbing levels of morphine for the last 7 years. Sure you can't?
Link Posted: 10/22/2003 8:49:56 PM EDT
Im still on if y'all are!

What do you guys think about meeting at 8pm. Seems like most peopelg et home at 530, get a shower take care of a few things and are out of their houses at 630.

So, I think meeting at 7 would really be too early.
Link Posted: 10/23/2003 5:18:32 AM EDT
I'll be there.
Link Posted: 10/23/2003 8:53:42 AM EDT
I'm in Hagerstown on meetings @1pm, so I should be able to make it on time.
Link Posted: 10/23/2003 9:12:57 AM EDT
FYI -

I just bought a bunch of Otis M16 buttstock cleaning kits.

I'll bring some spares that I can sell if anyone needs one.

Fight4yourrights, sorry to hear about your wife being on meds for so long. It really sucks. She must be a strong woman to have put up with whatever condition requires so much pain medicine for seven years. I quite taking my meds today after tapering down the dose for several days. We'll see how I do today. Going to the range to celebrate. Beer sounds really good. I tried to drink one while on my meds and it made me sick. That's not cool. No beer make Homer mad! Hope to see you guys tommorow.
Link Posted: 10/23/2003 11:59:03 AM EDT
8pm then. I'll be there - gotta remember my topographicals.
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 7:37:53 AM EDT
**** BAD NEWS GUYS ****
Just checked out their stage schedule and Little Feet is playing tonight SOLD OUT.

Do we want to shift gears and find another place????
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 8:21:47 AM EDT
Possible Alternate locations:

Daves BBQ in Columbia?
Hooters in Baltimore?

Other options? M4 you're the leader of this event want to pick a place?
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 9:18:07 AM EDT
Columbia would be great for me.
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 9:52:55 AM EDT
Just got off the phone with M4.
Looks like Dave's BBQ will be the spot.
Let's keep it the same time since everyone was planning 08:00 PM.
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 11:04:49 AM EDT
Daves in Columbia right!? (IIRC M4 mentioned one in Annapolis too).
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 11:16:02 AM EDT
YEP
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 11:30:43 AM EDT
Then I should point out (for those that haven't been there) Daves is located off of Rt 175 near where it intersects Snowden River Parkway.

Its right next to Don Paublos (hard to miss that building) / in front of Target.

You can take RT 29 and get off on Rt 75 heading East; or get off I95 and head west.
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 11:34:33 AM EDT
I talked with Fight4YourRight - he & his wife will be there.
Link Posted: 10/24/2003 12:27:55 PM EDT
For those not familiar with the area, if you are on Route 175, you turn on Dobbin Road (make a left if you are coming from 29 or make a right if you are coming from 95) and then right into the shopping plaza at the light. You will see a Target, CompUSA, Dicks, and Staples in the plaza

Had a good time w/ ya guys. Although, you all really need to work on getting there on time.

Anywho. We have a few things to work on getting up, Comm, and a few other things. Hopfully we can work on it at the next meet up and stuff.

Take care till then!

M4 got two words for you: Direct Deposit

Then you won't be making it in just prior to last call .

Anyway had a great time (and ate too much!) we need to do it again - lots of issues to cover now we got the BS aside.

See that was exactly the problem!

I have DD and my bank was M&T.Since they suck almighty balls I am getting rid of them and switched to BoA. In the switch over, the clowns at the state finance dept. have screwed up my DD transfer to BoA.

M4 & Super9,
You guys need to send me your address so I can mail you a copy of the MD-AR15 CD (see what you others miss for not attending the dinner?).

Oh you both had asked me the Cost of my EO Tech. The figure I gave was for the Military (552) version (with NVG capability). If you don't need it NVG compatible you can get the Police version in the really low 300's (model 512).
