Talked to a friend in reno. Said something that there was going to be a new york state flag burning in the parking lot and that the big reno show was now the little reno show and the big reno show is the crossroads show.

What happened?  the the north and south poles switch polarities in Reno?

Lou Fasc(ist)io decided to swallow Bloombergs di, um, "Reasonable Gun Control" BS.
Now he's letting the moron from New York dictate gun-show policy in Nevada.
Private sellers have to some how go through NICS, probably by paying an FFL or some fee to Lou's outfit, in addition to the $25.00 Brady BS.

Really going to help the value of the old .22's, bolt action shot-guns, sporterized Arisaka's and such that make up so many private sales.

WTF??? That totally sucks balls. That show sucked pretty bad already, but now i guess that totally killed the show. Only thing i liked about that show is all the minibars set up in the show so that i could enjoy laughing at stupid prices and tables full of junk.

His show, his rules.

If it's anything like what I have seen in the past, the rule will be selectively enforced.

When it is enforced, I have no idea how.

Because there will be so much attention on this due to the caving in of Lou & Co., I'm sure that the process will be watched closely from many quarters. It will be a "test model" of sorts I imagine.

It's bad enough listening to dealers talk out of the sides of their mouths about how bad gun control is when they are in fact subsidized by it, but this sort of pandering is pathetic. The Shows have gotten bad enough with all of the junk, attitudes, and ridiculous pricing, I say stay away and let them fade. What they are requiring is outside the bounds of law, and the are doing it simply to make more money in the short term by limiting the competition, so screw them.

More efficient local markets based on internet and other forms of communication are bound to evolve until the rest of the California laws get here. I personally would love to see the individual sales segment get off the Gun Show crack pipe.

I have found little reason to go to the gunshows, especially at Cashman except if I am in need of ammo.  Boycott is not a reliable strategy to deal with this.  A better strategy would be to set up an information booth, outside if possible,  and expose just why he is doing this and let the people decide.  At the same time show them alternate ways to get what they are looking for and connect with like minded individuals.  But you also have to let the promoters know what you are doing, mail or email works fine and their address is easily obtainable.

For gun-show promoters who want to pander to the very people who want them out of business, this is at best trying to dance whit the devil.  It doesn't matter how good you are, you will get burned.  The Lies told by bloomberg and associates are on par with old soviet propaganda done in the 50s and 60s about America.  IF the facts don't fit - then lie through your ass style of reporting that is done by a lot of MSM these days.  People are starting to see through this.  The tea parties are bringing a lot of things out as well as organizing.

If you refrain from politics and do not get involved then you are like about 50% of the people who do the exact same thing and will accept what ever comes.  Most of these people don't even bother to vote.  In truth, I don't want them voting as they are uninformed or ill-informed.

This country and our freedoms can only survive if the electorate is educated and involved in government at all levels. Otherwise we will devolve into socialism, chaos and much worse.   It is the peoples job to correct the government when it is wrong.

With socialism there will be whole communities and industries that will be left to rot, people will be left to rot and the idea that the picture brings is disturbing  to any who love what this country actually stands for.   We have seen the failure of socialism on this continent no less than 40 times since the first settlement of Jamestown.  The results are disturbing and horrific.  Death, disease  and pestilence are it's chief products.  I for one do not need to experience it first hand to know it's not a good thing.  The only thing that works is freedom, that a man keeps the fruits of his labors to do with as he sees fit.  Any thing else is disincentive and harms this country.

talked to my friend again. He indicated through a informant that there would be no change and its business as usual at the show.

have you heard the same?

So, what actually happened?

Any real protest made, attendance down, Lou did or did not kiss ass?

I didn't see any protests at all.  It would be hard for anything to be effective anyway since GSR has so many entrances, where would the protest take place?

When I was there on Saturday afternoon, I did hear an announcement over the PA to let people know which booth was acting as the transfer agent.

There were a few attendees walking around with slung long guns for sale but not many.  I meant to ask some of the usual non-FFL guys with tables if there were being forced to go through a NICS check if they made a sale but forgot to ask before I left.

I take it the "boycott" didn't go so well then. Maybe some other people enjoy patronizing this nonsense, but I'll never set foot in another Big Reno show as long as they have this stupid policy.

It was business as usual.  Signs posted with regards to the show's policies conforming to state and federal laws (a.k.a. private sales to NV residents legal without NICS)
