I guided a hunt during 4th season and we didn't see a single animal. It was really dry and I think the herds were still up high.

I am going to guide another late season hunt after Thanksgiving, hopefully the snow will come by then. It sounds like the harvest totals are down about 20,000 from last year.

I finally get to hunt myself after Christmas in a special Cow-only hunt. I have never hunted that late before. The one big advantage, you can sleep in, because the legal time to shoot is so late.

I'm hunting Elk in the Craig area next week. What do you think the prospects are?>

It is generally better to hunt later rather than sooner.
I am guiding another group of five guys on Saturday in South Park.
We have fresh snow but I haven't scouted the area yet. Hope we get some, the harvest total is down about 20,000 from last year.

Well' I'm leaving this morning for Craig. I'll report back next week on the results. I've been hunting deer for 25 years, but this will be my first Elk hunt.

Well, I got home this morning. I managed to get a 5 point bull. I guess 3 1/2 yr. old. I saw a lot more Elk than I ever expected. I sure hope to go back next year. Had a great time.

Pretty bad results so far at my company. We had four different groups from work hunting four different parts of the state and no one got one yet.
I am going on a special hunt after Christmas in South Park, I hope I do better. Almost out of Elk meet in the freezer and beef prices keep going up.

I didn't get to go big game this year.  [>(]

Them geese are sure getting their butts kicked this year though.
