Well, maybe I stretched the truth a little. It is not really "In" my backyard, but compared to all the other shows which average me 45 minutes or more it is to me.
I live in North olmsted but will probably spend the night at my girlfriends who lives in Olmsted falls off of Sprague. Maybe a 5 minute trip from there. I will be there around noon as it is my only day off this week and I am lazy. I will be trying to sell or trade my Glock 22. |

I have a select K31 rifle being held by a dealer I'm visiting there, working on a meeting time at the gazebo to complete a FAL stuff sale, a friend on crutches who needs 45 ammo, and general panning for gold from private collection reductions.
Also have a A500R 12ga to sell since I learned I can not get a slug bbl for it. It was a nice deal at the time... |

I used to live on the other side of the airport, off Rocky River drive, then the city bulldozed the house.
Between the Berea show and the IX show, I was set.  It's still a "candy store" and if you persist, there are deals to be had, just gotta find 'em.

I'm not expecting to find many deals from the dealers but there should be some people scrambling around trying to get rid of there pre-bans. Hopefully I can find a good deal.

With just over 2 weeks to go before the sunset, I think there will be some "dumping" as well as last minute gouging.
It'll be interesting as prices *should* be dropping already to near pre-ban levels, even on Govt./LEO mags, which are still illegal but perhaps not enforcable anymore. Or will the tables have any on display at all? Guess I go and find out, huh?  |

I came home with most of the money I left with.
It was hotter than..you know where on saturday. I saw a few "leo/govt only" Check-Mate Beretta mags for $20, I should have grabbed one just as a symbolic gesture, but I already have lots of pre-bans and didn't really need another one...maybe I did grab one afterall. The prices on some factory pre-ban mags seems to be dropping, some maintaining, like the Sig 226 factory 20 rounders, with the claim that Sig will not sell these to the public any longer. Some Butler creek 25 "steel lips" appeared like magic but were not priced to move yet. I don't regret going, looking around and running into old friends...geez, all my friends are old! Grumbling overheard at the tables was that sales were slow...well lower your prices then! |

Didn't get too much on Saturday except some ammo and forward assist parts, but the best line I heard came from a dealer, which was "Don't shoot Wolf ammo through your AK".

No no no...I've got a better one-liner that I heard! Here it is...it was from one of the dealers selling the crap cetme G3 type rifles in the third building...
"Are Cetme's accurate?I would say about as accurate as my Ar-15, my wife loves to shoot my cetme's, I have a few of them myself!". I had to run away so I wouldn't laugh in his face. |

After hearing all of your comments on the show I wish i would have gone.
Unfortunetly I had to work all weekend, Damn State job! Well atleast Medina's gun show is only a couple a weeks away, Sept 11th and 12th. Right before the ban sunsets, should be some good deals there. |

Well, we should know by that weekend if the ban sunsets... if/when it does, I'm tempted to go to Niles/Warren the next weekend to see what prices will be like on and how bad the dealers wit $115 standard-capacity Glock mags will be crying... |

I had fun. Sold FAL stuff to a guy who arrived right on time at the gazebo with exact change, got a decent trade in on a Benelli Nova that can shoot slugs or shot, to replace the Browning semi that only handled shot, got an excellent K31 that I had ordered by long-distance hand-pick connection, and found this Garand that spoke to me LOUD and CLEAR.
The FAL and K31 sales were what made me go, the rest was a good suprise. Not fond of the 8% Cuy Co tax being charged vs Medina/Akron.... |
