There are some mags listed there as "preban" but are most definitely NOT preban.  Flagged it to the mods, but they just deleted my notice as ad stomping for trying to prevent people from unknowingly committing class E violent felonies.  Sorry, but ad stomping is saying something that negatively affects another users sale.  Ad stomping is not alerting the seller and potential buyers in a civil way that they are both committing felonies because the seller is trying to rip ban staters off.

Before you get ass raped at $75+ a mag, please do your homework.  While the "this random pic on the interweb says my mag is preban!" argument works with keeping your misleading ad on the EE, it does not keep the NY DA from sending you to prison.

If any mod gives you shit for telling people in ban states they are buying items that by mere posession makes them a violent felon
Is some bullshit!!
Fuck that . Give us a link and lets hammer the add.

I have posted a warning before in an add that listed postban mags as prebans.

Just notify site staff not a mod (no offense)

Best bet is to IM the seller and contact a mod.  The EE has strict rules for a reason.

ive gotten stuck with a lot of post ban mags in the past...

AR mags (bought 25 in a lot), Glock mags (about 7 in one purchase), 5 Sig M11 / Sig P226 post bans...

all were advertised as "prebans"...needless to say i had to dump them VERY quickly on the EE for cheap...or simply return to sender and eat the shipping for a 2nd time.

I am very careful now, and look over pictures...never take someones word for it.  Hell, ive had people post pics of preban mags and ship me post bans even.  It sucks.

I understand the rules of the EE, my point is a bit more severe then getting somebody a little pissy bout stomping there add.
Lets say an unsuspecting buyer in a ban state gets hold of that mag or mags....they could go to jail and have their lives ruined. If a seller is ignorant of this ...oh well.
Its not stomping its protecting the buyer and the seller from making a huge ( however retarded) mistake.

I agree to IM the seller but an immediate warning like a post in the add makes sense.

In this instance, I favor more a more wise interpretation of the site rules.  Hell this site is based in NY and they of all folks should fully understand the ramifications of some NYer getting felony non compliant magazines accidentally or even worse by ass raping subterfuge shady sellers.

As far as I'm concerned it should be permalock for the sellers.

Hmm,  as I'm sometimes wont to play devil's advocate and look down the road, my suggestion might just end up with more ads saying "no sales to NY".   Of course such an ad would show that the person was not out to target ban stater's for fraud.

I agree that wilfully selling non preban mags as preban should be grounds for a permaban.

It is also the responsibility of the buyer to make sure that the items being purchased are legal to own in his or her jurisdiction.

The EE cannot work if we have guys jumping in and stomping ads at will.

How would you feel if you were selling a 14.5 barrel and some one showed up stating that you can't sell it because it is NFA?

It's not but you have to understand that not everyone knows what the laws are and in many cases the laws are so impossible that it leads to multiple interpretations of the law.

Again best course of action is to IM the seller and report the thread to a Mod so they can deal with it.

It's crazy seeing people's ARs in this state with brand new Magpul mags. Some people don't give a shit, so I don't even say anything anymore unless it is a friend or family - and they all know better anyways.

This is true

I have seen folks that are obviously non compliant and when you talk to them they just don't care.

I just tend to go with the MYOB on this stuff.

I think I saw the ad. The .40 on the left was def post ban but he only listed the one on the right as preban. Both of the .45s were pre ban. Same ad??

Some people do have compliant post ban mags that have been fixed to hold ten rounds.

Are you talking about the Glock 17 magazine generations picture?

1-4 = Preban

5-6 = During the ban

7-8 = After ban

(I have a bunch of 17rd Gen 4 mags and 1x gen 2 (or 3) 33rd mag

I bought some NIW "pre-ban" 30 round mags from someone here when I was still living in NY.  After I got them, it turned out that they were not pre-ban, according to some respectable folks who I asked here.  Shame on me for not checking into it before buying.  The seller is a legit guy, and told me he was told they were pre-ban, when he bought them.  I believed him, and still do.  I just sent them to my buddies down here in SC, who was also holding a stash of PMags that I ordered online for me until I got down here.
