Any recommendations/insight for choosing the best barrel for CSR/PR but also for reasonable 1000yd accuracy?
Also cut vs. buttoned - does it really matter on a high quality barrel? Your thoughts Gentlemen... |

Your thoughts Gentlemen... Dont know about 1000 but my very short ( sub 16" ) barrel was doing ok at 600. No idea if button or cut though ![]() |

If you are going the AR route for CSR then go for 18". If you're sensible, the gun plumber building your rifle will know what's what and can recommend twist, rifling etc.. If it's a rifle for CSR you're building, forget 1000 yards and get something else for that.

+1. A 1 in 8" twist will handle any bullet weights you're likely to use for CSR/PR. Either 18" or 20"long. For 1000yds, get a .308 Win or a .260 Rem

Thanks to all above.
I kind of thought as much, but wanted to get some common consensus from keen AR users since I'm pretty new to the ARena ![]() |

But that wouldn't be a reason to get another gun.
