Little bird claims that suppressors are not allowed in VT...

Frankly, I did not think VT had any restrictions...

Anyone clarify this?

Thanks
Dan Tucker

I see no exemption for NFA.

Vermont Title 13, Chapter 85, Section 4010:
Gun silencers. A person who manufactures, sells or uses or possesses with intent to sell or use, an appliance known as or used for a gun silencer shall be fined $25.00 for each offense. The provisions of this section shall not prevent the use or possession of gun silencers for military purposes when so used or possessed under proper military authority and restriction.

Looks like you can own it... but not "use" it... how would they hear you using it anyway!

Don't you have to get a PD sign off for a suppressor?

Not familiar with NFA items...

Can NOT have them in Vermont at this time...it IS illegal.

I worked some w/ a Senator last year about getting the ancient $25 fine taken off the books and xfer'ing power to Fish&Game as a hunting regulation. After the elections, I'll be taking up the issue with a house member that I know.

Hopefully we can get something practical done this year so that our forms can go thru.
