I have a question for all of you Californians. I am wondering if the HK SL8 rifle is legal to own in california. I have heard from other people on this site that they are, but thought that maybe someone in this forum would know. Since I will be joining you all soon by moving there (ok, no booing or throwing things ) I just wanted to check before I brought mine out there. Thanks!

Not unless you already have it registered.

Detachable magazine + thumbhole stock = banned

(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.

What part of CA are you moving to ? And do you know anyone in NV or AZ that would be close to you? Its a shame to sell that stuff it would be nice if you could store it across the border.

Are you .mil? I think there is a loophole for military stationed here, as long as you don't stay here after you ETS.

As long as you are a civilian no way. But SL7 is legal since it doesn't have thumbhole grip.

Hmmmm... So if I could "fix" the magazine in place, I could have it? Man, the laws out there suck! I am starting to regret moving from good ole' OH10..... Thanks to everyone for the info! See you at the range!
