I always read Fred's columns in SGN. I've been tempted to give one of these a try, I just have to get my schedule in line with theirs.

I am one of the instructors. We teach basic rifle marksmanship using the sling and the fundamentals. We give instruction in the basics, get folks' rifles zeroed, and shoot at 25m targets simulating targets from 100m to 400m. Then, once folks have it down, we move to actual 100-500m range and shoot at popups.
Great fun, good time, excelent instruction for the price. |

It sounds great. My only problem is in finding this a week and a half before the shoot. It doesn't look like I'll be able to work it in to my schedule (not blaming you guys). I was looking around on the website and am planning on getting Fred's "Becoming A Rifleman." I assume there will be future opportunities to come up and do the course. I'll keep an eye out. The RWVA site is very interesting. I'll be spending some time there reading the articles. What a country! |

First Saturday of the month at 12noon is an NRA highpower shoot. Once the weather turns warm, we do weekly AQT shoots. Watch RWVA forum for further info. |

Brohawk, if that course is as good as Fred's Guide to Becoming a Rifleman, and I believe the course is based on the Guide, you will get some of the best training you are ever likely to get for dirt cheap.
I suggest you look on the site and find the schedual of AQT shoots. I'm sure there's one that you can fit in. Click on "Forum", and the first thing you'll see is a header for "Appleseed Event Calendar". The Guide alone has been an enormous help to me. I envy you being so close. |
