My son lives in LA wife wants to live within reasonable driving distance from him. She and my son have been discussing the Yucca Valley Twentynine Plans area. He say it is gun friendly guns stores on ever corner.

Any information would be welcomed.

I realize my gun rights would not exist as they current do here in FL and most of the mags I have for rifle and pistols would have to go.
When going into CA to live do you need to register what you are bringing in? I would get rid of any AK's I might have left. If I did move I would only want to bring one AR I guess it would have to be modified to meet CA laws.
I am 74 not destined to be on this earth much longer so a move to CA would not be so bad, I think.

Yucca Valley is a hole and it's really not even that close to LA. The place is either military families or meth heads. Move to Lake Havasu City in Arizona. Plenty to do, nice clean town, 4 hour drive to downtown Los Angeles, full of people your age, and you get to keep your rights and freedoms. I live in the Victor Valley, but we just bought a house in Az and spend most weekends there. It's worth the 3 hour drive. As far as registering your guns, unless you move to California before the new year, you would have to make all your rifles featureless (if they are not on the named list of banned guns), and you would have to register them with the state. 

I would not move to Yucca Valley - period.  Either go all in and move closer to your son or live in AZ and do the drive to LA.

If you buy a place on the river/lake your son's family will be visiting you
