I saw Brian @ Sunset Weapons got banned on the Subguns.com board. He is not on the good guy list anymore either. I heard he is shutting down or got shut down. Many people say he is not honoring deals and such. Anyone deal with him lately or know whats going on?

He was at Knob Creek in October, but I didn't stop by and talk to him. I did two transfers through him a couple years ago, and he wasn't the easiest to deal with, even then... sad to see things take this kind of turn, but I can't say I'm surprised. Brian told me once that the bulk of his business was in the wholesale/parts end, and individual sales/transfers were just a drop in the bucket. It always seemed like he had WAY more work on his plate than he could handle by himself, and customer service was the first casualty.

+1

Brian is a likeable guy, but he needs to straighten his business up somewhat. For example, I paid him in full to order a suppressor for me, as he didn't have that model in stock at the time. Two MONTHS later, I received a call from his secretary asking if I'd still like for him to order it.

He once told me that he does over 500 individual Form 4 transfers a year. That equates to at least 10 a week.

He told me he had over 100 M-16s waiting for transfers at one time last year.  Of course, I never saw said M16s.

Like most folks would say, he's a likeable enough guy.  I'd probably go for a beer with him.  However, 1 Form 4 through him is quite enough for me.  6 weeks to get serial numbers on a suppressor that's supposed to be in stock is a little much for me.

I talked with him @ Tipton show. I have never personally had a problem with him, but people related to me have.  If I had to put a cause to the reason why he is haveing problems. I would say money. Reason being is that a rifle was purchased. The check that was made out for the purchase of the rifle. The check was not written out to Sunset or Brian. Upon  Brians request it was made out to his "girlfriend". After 6  weeks the manufactuer of the rifle was contacted and no rifle had been ordered, by Brian. In the end the rifle was purchased and transfer was completed.

I delt with him twice, once at the 1500 where I bought a RRA reciever and at the Seymour show. We did a trade, he had a RRA upper that I wanted and he wanted my Walther P22 for his suppressor/Walther packages that he had..

Shame, I always got good service from him...

Some guy over on Subguns BOI volunteered to help people out there get their stuff Brian committted to them or owes. He had been there trying to prod Brian to fullfill his comittments and was getting info. out to the boards. Then Brian fell apart and dropped the ball on him too.hock.gif That guy said he is done helping him. Not sure where this is heading.

Got the lowdown from Brian's brother in law. He is apparently still open for business and is revamping his website.  I asked his B.I.L to ask him to register here and to tell him that there are some people upset with him.

I didn't know Brian has a BIL. I assume he has a sister, because Brian is not married. I don't thiink you'll see him post here. He didn't even post on Subguns when all that stuff has been said about him. You know he has to be reading it though.
