You might want to check out a local gun shop. I know in the StL area, and I'm sure in most major markets, they have rentals. One of the local shops rent only Glocks, but another rents just about anything you might want to try. They are usually pretty reasonable, and some even let you bring your own "factory" ammo (no reloads).
