Yes I've walked in several times to make purchases. Ammo, mags, ect. Never any problems. Plus you get to inspect the item before purchasing.

Can you walk in to purchase firearms?? It seemed to me that the only way to buy guns form the was to have a dealer intermediary.

Hey killian, I re-read my question and decided I was my usual unclear self. In particular I was asking about firearms. The web-site states you will be charge $20 for the 4473 if you are not an FFL, and when I have called they have said the same thing.

I was looking at my receipts and I have never been charged the $20, even though they did the 4473. I was just wondering if this was a recurring flaw, or, if this was normal...

IdentityCrisis:

Yes, they just state you must pay $20 for the background check.

Thats great.. I see from their website that they are cheaper on many items even with the $20 fee. It may be worth the 1.5 hour drive out there.

I am going to walk in and get my first AR soon, in an email, they told me that there was a 15$ fee for the background check...

I was a business owner forced out by internet buying and warehouse stores. I know the resellers feel. I shopped my local shop first. I would love to support my local shop. But at a difference of $150 on the AR I want, thats too steep. Hopefully I will be able to find what I was at the show this weekend. Hopefully for sale by some of the people I have dealt with in the past.

Only when they are set up at the creek.

Most times I have been charged, $15.

I walked in and bought my SAR-1 and was charged $15.

A couple of months later I went back to buy my SAR-2. They were busy on the phones, I had to wait a few extra minutes so they didn't charge me that time.

In Middletown, Ohio....inbetween Dayton and Cincy, right off of 75.

The downside is that only 1 person works at the counter and if there is another customer infront of you, it takes forever. I brought my M4A3 and SAR-1 from them, great prices.

A few years ago, I took a road trip to Middletown and bought an SAR-1 and two cases of ammo. IIRC, I was charged $20 for the transfer. Still a great deal considering SARs were $239 back then.

I need to do it again for an Enfield or a Bushmaster or an SKS, or a.......

I just walked in there today to get a cheapo WASR-10 and another K31. The kid said he would wave the 15 dollar fee(says that on their sign) and I kindly thanked him. I'm not sure if it was because my type 03 ffl was on file or cause I bought a bunch of stuff.

On an interesting sidenote they have a sign saying not to pull out your concealed carry. I guess they get all kinds of stupid in that place...

i am on the waiting list for a bushy m4a3. Hope to get my call soon from them telling me to come pick it up. Has anyone bought any of those .223 magazines they have listed on their site. If so, how are they?

I asked them about weekend hours once and they all but laughed.
Smart-alec guy says "Nope, we enjoy our weekends. We don't work Saturday/Sunday."
Me - "How about evenings during the week?"
Dude - "If you can't make it here by 5 PM, we can't help you."
Me - "Thanks for nothing, I guess I'll be heading for ORF Saturday morning."
