My family is planning a camping trip to the State Park in Bandera, Texas and I was wondering if anyone had been there and what it is like.

They will be taking their horses since there are great horse and bike trails there.  I have checked out the web page and the place looks nice and rugged.

Thanks,

Limited water, lots of trails and very few people outside of the riders, both hoof and wheel.  Great place.

Watch for snakes and be careful your mount is stable on rocky stuff.  I would NOT recommend it for spooky or new mounts.  This is better donkey country on some of the trails but then again, not many horse people like donkeys.

Trails are well marked with difficulty.  Don't over do it.

I haven't been to Bandera State Pak, but I have been to Bandera. That is one of my favorite places in the state. I love the hill country. It's so beautiful. I may have to ride up there for the weekend when I get home next month. Thanks for the idea!!
