REI has stuff like this... you might want to check their website at REI.com almost every thing they have there is in their store in Seattle...

REI sells small packages for backpack trips. I want to buy buckets and nandtruck loads to stash away in my basement. But then... it is just me... "survivalist nutcase".

Nobody I can think of.

That dehydrated food is alright, but I prefer MRE's. They're tastier and not nearly as salty, plus, I don't have to worry about water to eat them.

Problem with all those on-line stores is that shipping of such big and heavy items will probably double the price of whatever is advertised. I was just hoping to find local store of some sort.
Oh well. I guess i should just go to cheap stores like Grocery Outlet and load up on all kinds of canned food, grains, spaghetti etc. |

I dont know of a "local" source, but there are several manufacturers of long term type foodstuff in UT/southern ID (shocking I know). Azure Standard in Dufur OR has bulk & health foods and routinely delivers in WA/OR/ID/MT as part of a regular route. If you dont mind breaking down your 50lbs into 5gal buckets, you can do well with Azure, or their competitor "Mountain People", although I have zero experience with Mnt. People.
