Hey guys,

My 8 year old daughter is very much into the show "How it's made" where they show how everything is made from washing machines to Twinkies. I appreciate the fact that she's interested as I used to work in the factory automation / robotics business.

These days however I am no longer in the business and don't know of any good factory tours that I could take her on.

Does anybody know of any places in Dallas where I could take her to see a good automated assembly line of something being made ? One issue too is that this time of year I'd have to take her on the weekend, but I can wait till summer if you know of something good.

I know alot of beer factories allows tours, but not much for the younger kids...

I would offer to take you threw Lockheed Martin where I work on the F16 Line but the min age is 13 four visitors. There is also the Mrs. Barids plant on I35W south of I20 they give tours

For awhile I was getting a case of it shipped to me here in NM about every two weeks. A case was 24 of the 8oz. bottles. Cost me $28 including S&H. It was heaven. Don't know why I ever quit....

i want to go im over 13, that would be too cool and my 13 year old son would love it too.

We used to stop there on the way down to Junction. I would bring home 5 or 6 cases every year. There just is no substitute for it.

Used to work for Mrs. Bairds about 10years ago. Personaly went through the tour as an employee and it was neat. Best part was they gave out honey buns right off the product line, Better than Crispy Cream and deffinately a plus for kids. Call to check for times.

there are tons of mfg sites in the N-Dallas area, check out Texas Instruments, Raytheon, Alcatel, any micro electronic sweat shop, Frito-Lay, Dallas Spring, even construction sites, radio/TV stations, Bell Helicopter, Sally Beauty Supply, just get out the phone book and call'em.

PM me, I can take yall on a tour of SWA maintenance, at Love Field, we don't make anything, we only fix things that PILOTS break, I work nights weekends and holidays, let me know.
