I remember my brother, 2T2_Crash, telling me about one that was held up by Sacramento a few years ago.
Was wondering if anybody was interested in maybe doing another one? ETA: The decided time and place? (Tentative date, but most likely) December 8th Yolo Shooters Association in Woodland, west of Sac 24189 Aviation Avenue, Davis, California 95616 The range opens at 730 but live fire doesn't start till 9. I probably be getting there around 830, but feel free to come whenever I have 8 that have confirmed they'll be able to make it to the Norcal/Sac area shoot since the date and location have been decided. bm3 VacaDuck Taft Digitalpower toaster Sketti rodical a79flhrider DuraToTheMax - Pending on how his work turns out 220st - pending on work I then have a list of people who showed interest in the Norcal/Sac shoot but havn't posted since the date and location was decided. I'll be pming each of them about it. jukeboxx13 dtux |

I'm from Richmond, and the best range around me is United Sportsmen (I think that's what it is) out in Pittsburg. Consequently I have no idea what ranges are in the Sac area that are worth a damn.
Really just trying to gauge interest, and where the majority of people who want to do this live. |

See that's the thing, if most people who want to do it are up in the Sac area, fuck it, I'll go up there. Ranges around here, although not terrible, aren't all that great either. Richmond Rod n Gun is tiny, and filled with Fudds who are almost immediately pissed if brass comes anywhere near them. I understand getting a bit irritated if you're getting blasted with brass, but that's a bit different. Also limited to 100 yd rifle and 25 yd pistol unless you're a member then you get a 200 yd rifle and an action range. The place out in Pittsburg isn't too bad, plenty of firing line and bench rest under an awning. The 200 yd rifle and action ranges are members only, which is a little bit irritating, but that place is pretty busy every time I've gone there. My brother and I have been trying to find somewhere that we can get past 100 yds without being a member, because we're open cheapskates about it |

We had the one a couple years ago up at Yolo Sportsman's Association range in Woodland. It was a good time and I was glad to meet everyone. I'd be down for another.

If its around Sac or the bay and you guys don't mind showing a newb around I would really enjoy going.

What kind of ranges are at the Yolo Sportsmen? I see on their site they state rifle, pistol and trap, but what are the distances and how crowded is it usually there?
There's that location, and then I saw Sacramento Valley Shooting center, but thats damn near another hour away for me WITHOUT traffic. So far it looks like we've got 6 people other than myself interested. |

Also need to watch for events such as SASS, USPSA, Jr's, etc... |

I know it's the holidays season, so I'm not sure how many people will be able to in the coming months.
How does maybe the first or second weekend of December sound? Trying to give time so it's not a last minute thing no one can make. |

I'm in Ridgecrest, California. Much more South of Sacramento...but we have a membership-only range out here that goes to 600 (NRA sanctioned). If there is enough interest, I could ask the owner.
I'd be down for meeting some other CArfCommies. |

I need to check if it's possible, but maybe do a BBQ for the NorCal shoot there at the range? Burgers, hotdogs and the like?

VacaDuck, let me know if you find out if we can do a BBQ or not.
Otherwise I'm just going to wait to set a date. |

That's three for Lytle. North of fontucky. http://www.lytlecreekrange.com/ Lytle Creek is easy to find and access. You really can't get lost, the pavement literally ends at their gates entrance. From the 210/15 interchange, go north towards Barstow for about five or six miles until you get to the Sierra exit. Exit Sierra then turn left and head for the hills. The road changes name to Lytle Creek Rd, just follow it until it ends (maybe 12 or 13 miles?) and when you hit dirt, look to your right and you're there. |

Tried calling twice today. Never got through to anyone.
I will try again tomorrow. |

If I remember correctly member stanlee08 or stan08 is an instructor in SoCal with access to his own range.
Maybe the SoCal guys could IM him and see if he is available. Might dovetail into using his classes at St Crispian's Academy |
