A friend and I entered for the first time this year. We are paddling a fiberglass canoe. Any other arfcommers involved?

Would have been nice, but registration is closed now for the Colorado River 100

Bastrop to Columbus. I was gonna say. Where we hunt on the Colorado, you could walk across the river and not get your feet wet. This area must be deeper.

First I've heard of this. Sounds like a blast.

Guess I'll have to look for it next year.

A friend of mine has done it the last 2 years, he turned me on to it. We're pretty excited about it right now. We aren't trying to win, just finish...

Trying to talk my father into it for next year. I'm definetly in, whether with him, or by myself aboard kayak.

If you see a beat to hell canoe with "Team fatass AWESOME" written on the side.. you'll know who it is

eta: would love to hear how it goes when you finish

Sounds like fun! I have my canoe may have to come down that way next year.

I just think it will be a cool experience, something to tell stories about when I'm older.

Well, we finished in 22hrs 17min. We were shooting for under 24hrs, so I think we did pretty well for our first time. It was extremely challenging after it got dark, but I'm definitely doing it again next year.

Huh... I didn't even know TX had an event like this.

I've done 60-ish miles. But that was over 5 days. And on the Llano. Started in Junction.

The third day the river was so low we basically had to drag our canoes all day. Not fun. But definitely one of my more cherished memories.

We also have the Texas Water Safari, which is 267mi from San Marcos to Corpus. It is considered one of the toughest canoe marathons in the world. We had cool weather and good depth most of the way, but it was still tough.
