I need some good Freq's to listen to.

Got my tech license recently and joined the RACES as volunteer but, unfortunately, did not have time to do more research on the subject unless attenting the montlhy meetings or voluteering in events like the MS walk.

I just got a Kenwood TH-F6A and if you wish we can try something in the 2m band "thing" using one of the repeaters around. Only problem is that I do not know their frequencies yet, just the ESCA but these are not supposed for casual talk.

We have lots of full HF base and mobile around here, my brother just put up a 80 meter ant today.

2 meter is what we use almost exclusively here, roughly 25 mile radious simplex.

I was asking for some good Freq's....

But since you clowns would rather jack my thread, I will scan for them myself. (I got a new Shortwave receiver for easter)

And if you would listen to it every now and then you would hear people trying to call you.

Unless you have the tone set I can not hear you, if you TX the alarm will go off just like a ringer on a telephone, even if i am outside the radio will still show someone called.

if i know i will turn the tone off but during the night it wont stop squacking if i dont use tone control.

Funny you should bring that up, I was looking to get my tech license. Took a few preliminary sample tests online with 85%...so not great but not too bad either considering I haven't studied for it.

SO HOPEFULLY SOON.
