So I got pulled over for a headlight out tonight.   Cop says I had an attitude for asking why I was pulled over and how he saw a headlight out from behind.  I said I was just wondering?  I said I knew it was out as he had pulled me over in front of the auto parts store were I was going.  But he would still have to write something up.  Are you kidding?

Of course I couldn't find the registration at first because it's the wives SUV.  I told him to hang on a moment as I knew it was in here. He says to just hold it out the window when I find it.  Of course this was about 30 seconds after he walks back to his car, I have it hanging out the window for like 5 minutes.  What does he do, gives me a ticket for failure to produce a registration on demand.  I asked what was the time limit to produce it, he had no answer.

LOL.  When can you complain then?

I would guess the only place to complain would be to the judge, where he'll nod sagely, and say "tough cookies, guilty. Pay at the window".

Yeah, Not sure what to do.  Plead not guilty and they can fine you up to $2k or something.  No points and the hassle of court...might just pay it and say it was for the price of some of the comments I made after he gave it to me.

"Do cops wonder why people hate them?"

No.  We simply accept it as we go about the business of protecting citizens.....largely from themselves, their disfunctional families, and the unnecessarily chaotic situations that they create.

And yes, fail to produce is bs.............unless you're writing it instead of the primary charge.  Some folks deserve a break, but not a walk.

13-409b - Fail to display registration on demand = $50
22-201.1 - Fail to display two lighted headlamps when required = $60

I wonder why he didn't write the more expensive ticket...........or both.........after all, the cop was a jerk, right?

Is pulling someone over for going 51 in a 50 "protecting citizens"?

Is running radar at the bottom of a steep half mile hill "protecting citizens"?

And then if you need a road escort, your house gets broken into, your car gets stolen, etc, The cops are no where to be found or don't put much effort into it solving the crime.

That happens more often than you might think.  the book "The Ballad of Carl Drega"  lists quite a few.

Nice choice Deersniper.  Thanks for letting us all in on your hero.

Carl Drega (January 19, 1935 – August 19, 1997) was a man from Bow, New Hampshire[1], who killed two state troopers, a judge and a newspaper editor and wounded three other law enforcement officers before being shot to death in a firefight with police. The book The Ballad of Carl Drega by Vin Suprynowicz is named for him.

Drega had a long history of conflict with government officials over code enforcement issues, starting in the 1970s over whether he could use tarpaper to side his vacation house in Columbia, New Hampshire [2]. He claimed that in 1981, 80 feet (24 m) of the riverbank along his property collapsed during a rainstorm. Drega decided to dump and pack enough dirt to repair the erosion damage, saying this would restore his lot along the Connecticut River to its original size. State officials, on the other hand, contested that Drega was trying to change the course of the river. In 1995, the town selectman Vickie Bunnell accompanied a town tax assessor to Drega's property in a dispute over an assessment. Drega fired shots into the air to drive them away. Drega bought an AR-15 rifle and armor vest, and began equipping his property with early-warning electronic noise and motion detectors.

On August 19, 1997, at about 2:30, two New Hampshire state troopers, Scott Phillips and Les Lord, stopped Drega in the parking lot of LaPerle's IGA supermarket in neighboring Colebrook, New Hampshire to ticket him for having rust holes in the bed of his truck. Drega shot and killed both troopers. Drega then stole their vehicle and drove to the office of former selectman, then lawyer and part-time judge, Vickie Bunnell. Bunnell reportedly carried a handgun in her purse out of fear of Drega, but may not have had it with her that day. She warned the staffers in the building to get out before she herself left by the back door. Drega went around the outside of the building and shot her in the back from a range of about 30 feet (9.1 m). Bunnell died. Dennis Joos, editor of the local Colebrook News and Sentinel, worked in the office housed in the same building. Unarmed, he ran out and tackled Drega. During the struggle for control of the gun, Drega shot Joos in the torso and back, killing him.

Drega then drove across the state line to Bloomfield, Vermont, where he fired at New Hampshire Fish and Game Warden Wayne Saunders, sending his car off the road. Saunders was struck on the badge and in the arm, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police from various agencies soon spotted the abandoned police cruiser Drega had been driving. As they approached the vehicle, they began taking fire from a nearby hilltop where Drega had positioned himself, apparently still armed with the AR-15 and about 150 rounds of ammunition. He managed to wound two more New Hampshire state troopers and a U.S. Border Patrol agent before he was killed by police gunfire.

My good friend's dad is a retired Vermont State Police LT and told me about Carl Draga. What a piece of shit that guy was. Can't believe someone here in arfcom would be supporting him.

His property was washed away in a storm.  Should he not have been allowed to repair it?

New Hampshire to ticket him for having rust holes in the bed of his truck.

Sorry I don't have any support for cops that write BS tickets.

Theres more to the story than this.  I'll look it up when I get a chance.  And he didn't want to shoot Dennis, he walked past him.

Don't have much time for fish police either.

They fucked with him for a long time.  If more people had some back bone there might be some freedom left in this country.

Dan For_ - Deersniper,

Warwick is a long way from New Hampshire.  Pull it together.  Your life can be as good or as terrible as you decide to make it.  The scrapes you've had with MSP have been pretty minor so far.  If you keep advocating the murder of police officers, you're going to find your picture taped to dash of every cruiser in the state on a poster warning Officer Safety - Threat to Law Enforcement - Armed and Dangerous.  That's no way to live.

Good luck.  I hope they NP your ticket in court.  The violation definitely wasn't worth all this aggravation.  You deserve a break.

LOL.  I'm not from Warwick, and I have had no scrapes with MSP.  WTF are you talking about?

My life is great and I have never advocated the murder of police officers.   Just because I think they do a lot of things they shouldn't and I don't care if some people decide to bite back does not mean that I advocate their murder.  And on MSP- they seem to be the most professional officers in MD.  (used them for road escorts before)
