From a quck scan of the amendment it looks like all previous amendments to the bill were added, as well as the 3rd amendment of HB 1098 that was adopted by voice vote yesterday.

Looks like no grandfather clause, except for  retired cops.

They're going for  broke......... all or nothing.

I read the amendment as:

(b) Except as provided in subsections (c) and (d), 90 days
7 after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th
8 General Assembly, it is unlawful for any person within this
9 State, to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or
10 possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold,
11 purchased, or possessed, a semiautomatic assault weapon, an
12 assault weapon attachment, or any .50 caliber rifle.
13    (c) This Section does not apply to a person who possessed a
14 weapon or attachment prohibited by subsection (b) before the
15 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th General
16 Assembly. On or after the effective date of this amendatory Act
17 of the 94th General Assembly, such person may transfer such
18 weapon or attachment only to an heir, an individual residing in
19 another state maintaining that weapon in another state, or a

Mrs. Jakobsson is my Rep. I just called her Springfield # and was told she was going back to her district office so I called her district office and left my name and # so she can call me back. I stated that I wanted to know why she decided to sign on as a co-sponsor today. We'll see if she calls me back. I was polite on the phone and will not be the least bit rude if she calls me back. For whatever it's worth, I want to make sure she really has all the facts and understands what the bill really means.

If I read that correctly, all Glock pistols would be banned, because of the Glock 18 being an automatic pistol, and the entire rest of the Glock line is technically a semi auto version of that pistol.

Sheesh..

...another thing I notice. You can give the weapon to your heirs. There is some other provision about FFL, and out of state stuff.

FLL's will be able to transfer among themselves.
