So I bought a lawn mower this weekend.  I wanted a push mower.  I like them.  They work, no motor, no gas, just a file and an oil can.

Anyways the only place I could find one was at, heh, Eco-Wise in little berkeley (south congress in austin).

I called to see that they had one.  They did.  I got in my suburban, alone, drove down, and parked right in front of their front door.

I get a lovely look from the counter gal.  I get my mower, pay, put it in the back of the burb.  When I start it up, I gun it a bit extra for good measure, the idle in front as I called my real estate agent.

I think the counter girl was going to have a heart attack right about the time I pulled out.   (probably from the six lip piercings, and rainbow hair colors addling her brain)

Self propelled Toro w/6HP Briggs & Stratton engine for me.

Welcome to the 20th century.

Good job on pissing off the liberal though.

Oh my god that's hilarious...

I was at a gas station in Austria one time and it was my turn to drive...
Finished pumping gas and got in, started it up and pulled away from the pump a little to get out of the way. Then I grabbed the map to just take a peek at where the hell I was.

The guy in back starts blabbing in German to my GF, and motions to the bystandards who are now looking at our car. I'm looking around for the fire or whatever...and it turns out they were freaking out at me for idling a car while reading a map cause it wastes gas!

Damn, I routinely idle my Bronco on the driveway while checking to make sure all my AK's and ammo are nicely tucked in the back...

Those Europeans really don't understand Texas mentality.

Heh.  Next time, spray some motor oil into the muffler.  When it heats up, smoke screen city baby!

Technically we are in the 21st Century.

+1 on the Toro engine mower.  You should take one to the Eco-Hippies place and see if they can make it less fuel efficient

I like the push mower, actually.  Just don't let it overgrow and it's not any worse than mowing with the gas powered ones.

Kind of like the dude my wife and I saw get out of a big ass, yellow H2 at Sam's Club (cheap gas) this weekend.  My wife started laughing her ass off.  When I asked her what for, she mentioned that the dude from the Hummer was wearing "eco-friendly" sandals made of hemp and shit.

We figured we'd found the perfect future husband for my clueless, wanna-be hippy sister.........

Hey Prof Evil, good to see you posting in Texas (we met in Austin last month when I picked up Mr. Ted)....  It's a good thing you left the PRK when you did, as there may soon be a proposal to stick GPS trackers on  push mowers soon.  The politicians pushed for fuel efficient cars until they realized that the gas tax revenue was falling; now one politician is proposing GPS trackers in every car to tax people by the mile.  I'm sure GPS trackers on push mowers will soon be on the plate as well.

They were discussing banning charcoal there(CA) as well a while back.   That was a crock of manure.  There will always be tax and spend morons who desire their betterment at our expense getting elected in the name of helping society.  Sigh...

Normally that wouldn't happen of course, but I had hastily run to the bedroom to throw on some jeans and barricade off the labrador when she knocked.

A good friend of mine has relitives in Germany who he goes to visit  every year. He told me about one such visit right after the US invaded Iraq when France and Germany  were throwing such a sissy fit.
My friend was sitting around talking to his German cousins who were going on about how wrong the war was and how it was wrong that Gas and Oil prices were higher in  Germany than it was in the US. They were pretty much spouting socialist green party BS.
Now my friend is very right wing, sarcastict and not affrade to get right to the point. When his cousins werte complaining about  the  hig oil prices My friend just said and I quote "Thats because Germany isn't willing to go to war to keep oil prices  down".

.......That ended the conversation.
