While one officer attempted to stop the shoplifter, the suspect got into his car and took off, dragging the officer from the moving vehicle for a period of time. When other officers had a shot, they fired their weapons at the suspect’s car, which they’re currently looking for.

We arrest someone from our Walmart every single day.......it's like moths to flame. Many are repeat offender shitheads who have run from and fought with us.......total FSA who give a fuck about nobody but themselves and will steal anything that isn't nailed down.

That's nuts. I could never be a cop - people are far too crazy to deal with.

That's the scary thing, thing that pisses me off about the new Super Walmart they are building at the GEX/Superflea site.

They are going to close down and raze the Walmart on Walden Ave near Harlem...that Walmart has been the No 1 Walmart for shop lifting in the country a few times. The place is horrible, chock full of FSA scum from the East Side who ride the bus there. So now, instead of keeping that scum on the edge of the hood, they'll be importing them further out to the Union/Walden area...the FSA hoard move closer and closer. And once they infest an area, like roaches, they can't be gotten rid of, and destroy the area....

That area is going to become very bad once they build it....

There are dozens of arrests each week at every Walmart locally because that's where all the heroin addicts go to shoplift.   Truth.

and apparently was off duty but was in the area and had heard the call on the radio and wanted to help
I read he caught some house burglars in the act a few years ago as he happened to drive by as they were in the act or something

oh man, the liberals are peeing their pants and whining in the comment sections of local media
stuff like "why'd they have to shoot at someone for a mere non violent shoplifting case?"

I had the talk with guys at shift line up:

Never reach into a vehicle, that's how you get dragged.  Especially for shoplifter.

Was a shoplifter worth it?  One cop now may be paralyzed.

Walmart will just write off the stolen merchandise ...... Not worth getting killed over, or having to kill someone else.  Lose/lose proposition.

I was going to comment to this point but I felt it would come off as UN-empathetic to the officer.

I have to think that an officer might want to say Fuck Wal-Mart, get the license plate and go grab the fucker at his house later.

Those situations unfold so quickly - I doubt the officer thought it wold escalate that fast.
