Nope, sorry.  I may run up to Lafayette tonight after I get the kids to bed but I have too much going on today to sneak out.

I wish, but my kid’s soccer has me tied up all weekend.

I "may" head down there tommorrow. I will definitely be there next weekend though.

I've heard Pungo has steel targets, which I like. But the drive is over an hour from me.

The steel targets are for pistol's only.

They will allow 5.56mm for the 50yard and farther plates as long as you don't shoot green tip. Atleast they allowed my buddy and I to shoot the plates. (notice the plates at 100yards and I think 200 yards?)

I've only noticed steel targets on the very last lane to the right. Maybe steel targets at 50+100 have been installed recently?  It’s been a couple of months since I shot at Pungo. My boss has a membership at Cavalier, so most of my range time has been spend up there.

I was there 2 or 3 weeks ago. They must have put them in since your last visit.

Are the steel targets the self-reseting type or do you have to wait for a cease fire to reset them?

Also is there a restriction on the type of ammo for the plates, ie lead only?

they were fixed mounted, not swinging. You just get the thump feedback when you hit them. Yes, they will not allow Green Tip for obviouse reasons and nothing shorter then 50 yards w/ any other 5.56/223 ammo

Cool, no restrictions on handgun ammo then?
