ATF, along with the Warsaw, N.C., Police Department, is offering a reward for information of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of those responsible for an Oct. 17 burglary at Clark's Pawn in Warsaw. The burglary occurred after business hours at the federal firearms licensee located at 320 N. Front Street, Warsaw. Approximately 40 firearms were taken during the burglary. Follow SOP on this one. Talk to the OTHER pawn shops within 200 miles and up and down the I95. Fax them a list of the guns. Check the gun ads in local newspapers. Simple and takes a little coordination and maybe 8 hours work.
Now, the SOP in the past has been:
1) find the bad guys
2) use what the bad guys say to PROSECUTE the pawn shop owner for providing illegal guns to said BG's.
3) make big, public announcements saying how many straw transactions you prevented.
