Fuggit, it is Christmas, a time where we exchange gifts that are the fruit of our labors willingly and peacefully to others whom we consider friends and family. The name is meaningless and the reason for gift exchange has zero congruency with any of the religions attached to the season. Let's just roll with it. Now that crap is out of the way I propose a $30 limit/goal (MSRP), mostly because a $20 limit would make it hard to give out PMAGS as one PMAG seems cheap but 2 would go over the $20 limit, and this would also allow the exchange 3 USGI's or 2-3 DVD's or whatever. Not a hard and fast rule, just a ideal goal. Not everyone has the fundage to throw out there and not everyone has the ability to limit themselves either. Just no bitching if you spend a bunch and your exchange partner cannot or didn't. |

Anyway, just a little insight as to why they need to have some rules. In the past folks have signed up, agreed to exchange gifts, received one and never sent it... or claimed they sent it and it never arrives and they conveniently didn't have any tracking information. Somebody ends up scoring and somebody gets fucked. Because of that they started requiring things like tracking information, or emailing the mods when gifts arrived... and in some cases banning people who fucked others over. Probably less likely to happen in a HTF where a lot of you know each other, but the board always feels a moral responsibility when these events transpire, even if there is no legal responsibility. The board is only as good as its reputation, and I think (not speaking officially here) that they would rather be viewed as cautious but scandal-free over fun loving and free-wheeling but a place where people get scammed. Anyway, if this moves forward who wants to adopt me? I owe you fine men and women my thanks for getting my mentor Sean O'Keefe and his son safely home from that horrible plane crash. Prayers for those who didn't make it.
