With the cheap ammo im seeing for 5.45x39 is it really worth it? I mean first question, any NJ legal?

If they are what should I go with? I have a WASR10 and am happy with it, only had 1 FTF after 4,000 rounds of not cleaning and constant abuse (constant bump firing)

Was thinking the Wasr-2 for this.

Or should I get a WASR3 (.223)? if they are legal that is.

Your enlightenment is greatly appreciated

Right now I have a WASR-10 in 7.62x39 but thats getting a little pricey at the moment. Im seeing 5.45x39 staying somewhat low thats why I might retire my 7.62 and use the 5.45. 15 rounds is max in NJ hehe. I think I have something like 20 15 round AK mags i made, very cheap mags. What is the mag price like for 5.45x39?

Look for a SAR 2.
Here are my three. Mags are running just under 20 bucks now.

How do they fire compaired to the Ar15 and 7.62x39? Just looking for fun factor hehe

AK74 mags can be found for about $10 ea.
From what I've been told the 5.45x39 has a light recoil.

I'd stock up on the ammo and get a locap wasr2.  You could get a locap wasr2 and convert it yourself to hi-cap.

again...545 is cheap today, but i wouldnt run out, buy 3 5.45 rifles, sell off your .223 and 7.62x39s and then complain a year from now when 5.45 is unavailable or 2-3x the current price.

surplus comes and goes, prices go up and down...dont bank on one caliber.

Who said I was getting rid of my others, I kind of play the price game when shooting, what ever is cheaper the day Im about to go to the range i bring and order that same day.

One thing I wanted to do was get different AK variations. Always wanted an AK47 and AK74 type and am trying to fulfil that right now

not talking about you specifically..theres a thread like this in AK discussion...some guys want to ditch everything but their 74s cause ammo prices....that would be a foolish thing is what I am sayin, thats all

and yeah, more variants, the merrier

I find that the recoil is a little lighter in the 5.45 round compared to the .223.

All I know at the moment is that its a Norinco, dont know the condition or anything yet. I gave a list to my gun dealer and he calls me when one comes available and i drive up. We will see friday =)

He has the PSL available for $750 after taxes and shipping to his shop but that will take weeks. At the moment he has a price tag of $1120 after taxes and everything for the Norinco. At that price it doesnt seem like a good condition one or a mixed parts one.
