The 50th District's (Duke's district) has the special election coming up mid next month and I'm trying to figure out who to vote for.  Problem, there are just an ass load of people running, and most of them are Republicans who don't seem to mind splitting the vote (idjits).

So, for those in the know, which candidates actually have a chance and who's actually a real conservative?

I would recommend this man, he is a very conservative, but don't know about his 2nd Amend views.

I don't live in that district, but I'm on a list of email alerts.

From an recent email that I've received from him:

Fellow Republicans,

Lately it seems that our Republican Party has been on the defensive
with the news media and Democrat politicians attacking just about
everything the Republican Party does or stands for.

Don't you think it's about time we could all use some good news to
boost our spirits?

That's why I am very pleased to tell you about the success we're
enjoying these past 4 days in our Internet Telethon to raise the funds it
will take to defeat the Democrat Party's efforts to "steal" one of the
seats in Congress that had been held by a Republican.

We're facing a very liberal Democrat candidate in the Special Election
to fill the seat made vacant by former Congressman Duke Cunningham's
resignation.

That candidate, Francine Busby, has now raised over $1 MILLION thanks
to a fundraising push by MoveOn.org, the liberal radio network Air
America and Howard Dean's group, Democracy for America.

But now, Republicans and conservatives from around the nation have
rallied together in an effort to push back against the Democrats' attempt
to "steal" this Republican seat.

Please take a moment to see how much we've raised (we're collecting
contributions so fast that from the time I am writing this until the time
you read it, there will be a huge influx of new Republican
contributions).

Check out our progress here:

And please, help us win this FIRST congressional race in the nation
which takes place on April 11th  (as this will set the momentum for the
2006 election season) by making a contribution yourself here:
http://www.kaloogian.com/contribute

Maximum contributions allowed by law are up to $8,400 per individual
($16,800 per married couple) for the Special & Primary elections.

Please make a contribution of any amount - $10, $50, $100, $250, $500,
$1,000 up to $8,400 online here:

You can also mail in a contribution to our Republican finance
headquarters here:

    Kaloogian for Congress
    P.O. Box 1863
    Sacramento, CA 95812

Thank you very much for your dedicated support!  I feel very good about
our chances for victory in this crucial congressional race and look
forward to celebrating with all of you on April 11th.

Fondly,

Howard Kaloogian

I think Howy has his own talk show, he was pushing the recall effort.

Fortunately for all of us (or shall I say UNfortunately), all the districts are gerrymandered to hell in the PRK.  This includes Republican districts.  The chance of a very liberal democrap winning in a gerrymandered Republican district is VERY SMALL.  The ONLY chance Ms. Busby has for victory is either that her opponent makes some type of catestropic mistake (read corruption allegations, etc).

Remember folks, back in 2000 the Republicans collaborate with the Dems when the state was gerrymandered.
